    This article above, on the topic of mourning and bereavement, in which I explain the tools that Judaism and Jewish communitiy provides for those suffering loss is being published in the September issue of the Washtenaw Jewish News serving the community of Ann Arbor and providing a voice for the local Jewish community.

    The published version will be slightly different from the version on my blog, but both invite both Jews and non-Jews to look at how we cope with grief and loss, and encourages us to find the opportunities to help build the community we want that allows those around us to cope.

    In addition, I have received requests for speaking engagements to those learning about bereavement across cultures.

    If you are interested in how communities build and thrive, how we are left alone and consoled, it might be worth a read.

    A resolution was passed unanimously by the #Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners who reflected the frustration of last week's #icestorm. It addresses issues surrounding the extensive #poweroutages.

    Yousef Rabhi, the commissioner representing the 8th District, wants to determine the feasibility of a county-run #municipalpower utility. Also, he wants to see the county lobby for passage of some bills in the state legislature.
