    Quite used to seeing solitary Red Kites hovering around the skies round these parts. Occasionally I see two or three hunting together or juveniles playing around.     They are surprisingly common in West #Yorkshire, saw eight in one place near Leeds yesterday on the way towards Roundhay Park.

    I'd been wondering which of the neighbours had had a baby that could be heard cooing and squeaking outside every day when none of them have had one (to my knowledge). It turns out a colony of #RedKites have moved in and are now regularly soaring around overhead, and that's what they sound like.

    Only relatively recently they were on the #endangered list in the UK, and here we are. Great to see and hear the results of a successful #conservation effort.
