Genetic analysis of 147 house mice and 143 Norway rats from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Washington D.C. found the 84% of mice and 35% of rats had mutations in a gene that affects the efficacy of anticoagulant pesticides. This is consistent with exterminators' observations of reduced susceptibility in some populations.
