That's a fair call, you find my arguments unpersuasive , as per Brandolini's law.
I could just leave it with my effective, provable, lived experience;
https://infosec.exchange/@n_dimension/117226781232828748But since I know literally no one who is boosting this, read the paper, and instead are just re-boosting the guy who likely hasn't read it either, or if he has, he misunderstood it.
I will use an automotive, succinct and simple interpretation;A reviewer took a car round a racetrack, found the tow bar didn't improve lap times, and declared tow bars useless. Nobody fits a tow bar for lap times. Same review found towing success up 1,600%.

Oh fun, Microslop in an ever increasing desperate way to show they have LOST THE PLOT have titled an article called "Vibe Gaming". Why the FUCK would I want to watch an artificially incompetent thing play a game and struggle like brain damaged C-Suite fight its way out of a paper bag?
What entertainment would I get out of that?! Hmm, Microslop?! Are we just a little TOO desperate to find a nail for the hammer that you happen to call AI?
Edit: Of course this is only an experiment that if met with all the natural disdain it deserves, Microslop will probably nuke it...Or they will try to boost it. I am not trying to say it will become the default or anything to anything Microsoft makes. It's just another bad reason to justify the existence of AI, the crazy amount of money that has been spent, the countless sites scraped for training data, user data begged/borrowed/stolen. This just feels like a bizarre project, one that is counterintuitive. Games are supposed to be fun, engaged with, enjoyed. Why would I want a souless LLM thing play a game for me?

Another interesting video by Pivot from AI, called: Tante on AI: ‘When this crashes, I want apologies’
It goes into the implications and the impacts that LLMs have had on society (how they aren't particularly good).
Rather a lot of that burned money should've be used to improve and enhance existing systems that actually benefit people.
It also touches on how there are so very little ethical and formalized rules when it comes to software engineering that could have prevented this stupid mess, Tante wants that to change. I wouldn't mind some rules to prevent a stupid mistake like this by fashbros next time.
Most importantly, demanding actual apologies from those who boosted this bullshit is important or I will not trust any of these people again. They have to go into detail as to why they were wrong and how they will meaningfully change the process of how they evaluate new tech and engage with future technologies.
Before making the choice to become an influencer for a rotted tech that will probably only do harm to the world.

I feel you Tim. At this point it’s not even ridiculous anymore.

The latest #PivotToAi episode by @davidgerard is just brilliant.
Pivot to AI: 20260413 - AI doomsday cultist throws Molotov at Sam Altman’s house

The promise and the reality:
The story of the Loughton supercomputer is an insight into the dizzying ambitions for artificial intelligence as an economic powerhouse, in the UK and beyond – but also how those hopes can dissolve into a less exciting reality.
The $17.5bn investment represents a plan, by a UK company, to buy chips made in Taiwan by a US company, put them in a building in Loughton, and rent them to another US tech company.
Asked about how the site would create 750 jobs, Nscale could not say how this figure had been calculated.
Again and again, @davidgerard, Ed Zitron and others have highlighted that many of these loudly trumpeted "commitments" and "contracts" to invest billions are nothing more than hype to inflate the AI balloon. Here's another shabby example. Who's behind it? Former crypto bros, of course.

CW: re: gifts received; pebble fud, mechkeys
had some fun ideas for it, but in light of FUD around RePebble's handling of third-party software, their announcement of a disposable ai smart-ring, and the founder's prior #PivotToAI, i will instead be buying ceramic-powder keycaps + imported switches and building / iterating on my novel keyboard *twice* (kinda-steno, kinda-combos, now: elevated thumb-column instead of adjacent cluster. The tilted profile of the bottom thumb-key is signifigant.)

Now off to a birthday at friends of which some work at Nvidia. I thought I dress up for the occasion. #PivotToAI

En parlant des bienfaits de la dématérialisation et de son futur grâce a l'IA…
The UK will totally replace two-thirds of its young civil servants with AI chatbots (or so ChatGPT says).

@davidgerard I've got to take exception to one statement you make:
AI is the last game in the casino.
It may be the last game of which we're presently aware. But I'm reasonably certain another grift will come along.
That's a minor nit, and this is good analysis.
NB: WNYC's On the Media interviewed Ed Zitron this past January. He makes a similar case to yours:
Silicon Valley over the years has leaned towards just growth ideas. What will grow, what can we sell more of? Except, they've chased out all the real innovators. To your original question, they didn't know what they were going to do. They thought that ChatGPT would magically become profitable. When that didn't work, they went, "Well, what if we made it more powerful and bigger? We can get more funding that way," so they did that.

@jannem As a native speaker I'd been similarly puzzled, so it's not just you.
Apparently "Pivot to AI" is the key context, and is a new site @davidgerard recently launched:
From the About page:
Pivot To AI is written by David Gerard. It was started by David and Amy Castor, who started out collaborating on writing about the foolishness of cryptocurrency and blockchains.

"Pivot To AI: the site"
https://davidgerard.co.uk/blockchain/2024/06/24/pivot-to-ai-the-site/David's messaging could have been clearer. Don't get too far over your skis, peeps.

Translation fail. Chosun Biz uses OpenAI software to auto-translate their Korean language articles into English. Korean headline says "17th of next month" (i.e. April) but AI wrote it as "November 17". I wonder why though. https://biz.chosun.com/en/en-retail/2025/03/17/56FNOMMVABG4DJEXH5HEKVAOXU/ #TranslationFail #PivotToAI

«Tesla is a meme stock with a troubled car company attached. Elon Musk’s job is to be the meme.
[…]
The car promises weren’t much better. The Cybercab is a two-seater car with gull-wing doors and Cybertruck styling. The Robovan is an unsteerable windowless box.
This stuff sounds cool as hell. It’s a pity that Musk will never, ever deliver.»
Spot-on comment by @davidgerard and #AmyCastor.
BTW: Their next #PivotToAI post will be #100! Time to celebrate!

Also, that guy who asks you to pump their shitcoin might be a fed "As part of the investigation, the FBI directed the creation of a cryptocurrency company, NexFundAI, which had a token on the Ethereum blockchain that prosecutors said ZM Quant, CLS Global and another company, MyTrade, agreed to help manipulate"
(does the FBI calling their crypto sting company NexFundAI count as #PivotToAI @davidgerard ?)
