Peter Cushing's digital replica rights as Star Wars Moff Tarkin Lawsuit thrown out of UK court today.
Legendary actor Peter Cushing played Grand Moff Tarkin in Star Wars (1977).
The actor passed away in 1994.
LucasFilm resurrected Cushing to play Tarkin for Rogue One (2016) with a digital creation from Visual effects company Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) after Cushing's family agreed to the project.
Tyburn Film Productions took LucasFilm/Disney to the UK courts in 2021 arguing they held rights over the star being bought back to life by technology and the digital replica used in Rogue One was done without permission.
Today (18th Dec 2025) after four years, appeal judges tossed the case out of court based on the fact that Tyburn's contract did not apply in this case.

I'm watching a Cushing film I've never actually seen before. Shocker, I know. It's called Corruption. So far, it's great. Also, we get to see a few kisses, so hey, not complaining. 🫠
Esmeralda is all curled up in my lap, she's had her hyperthyroidism meds, the medicated ointment for her head, and she's purring away as we snuggle. She's doing much better now. She's almost all healed up, too. No more cone of shame during the day, only at night when I give her the ointment, just so she won't lick it off and clean her head. Thank goodness.
As for my ongoing story, I'm electing not to do any writing tonight. I'm taking the night off and I'll do some tomorrow, before and / or after a doctor's appointment I have.

(This piece takes place directly after Dracula A.D. 1972 and The Satanic Rites of Dracula from '72 and '73. Keep that in mind. The Author's Note is also very important.)

On another note, and I've been looking at the draft all week, I actually have a Dracula and Van Helsing story to finish. I'm really only doing it for @therivercrow and myself at this point, and there's nothing wrong with that. I've been stuck on a few plot points, but I'll be happier if I just start working on it and the ideas eventually come to me. 🦇
