Yes, there is always music in the background as I write. I enjoy melody that tugs at the heartstrings and stirs raw feelings in me. Do the lyrics themselves or the beat affect my writing? No. Does the music lend to a well of emotion I draw from when writing? YES!

P.S. I always share a Spotify playlist with each novel so that my readers can be immersed in the same feelings as they read.

I sometimes like to give the people pinging me with their "author services" the benefit of the doubt. The attached image is one such conversation in which the person gave me a book marketing pitch (clearly GPT generated) on using book trailers. So, I glanced at one of their trailers posted on FB, and the answer to the veracity of the "professional" question was immediate.

Editing Book III for Of Evil and Angels, and boy, do I dislike editing. ☠️

I recently decided that for new work, I'll draft and revise as I go. When the last chapter is done, it's off to the editors. I know this violates every good writing practice. But I am a "one try, one success" kind of person.

I advocate for "do what works for you", but this one has me worried... Yet editing...saps the life from my soul.

I think most readers have done enough sex-ing to know what the author is talking about without being explicit. That said, I get that many readers want the raunch and I support that too, I just don't write lovemaking / sex that way.
