My latest project was turning my old Windows 10 machine upstairs into a #SelfHosting workstation. I slapped a big hard drive in it, and reformatted with #Kubuntu #Linux.
I've converted many of my DVD collection into a @jellyfin server. (Only stuff I OWN + public domain content, and only viewable inside the house.) I also just put on #NextCoud and it was pretty easy. Now I essentially have cloud storage from anyplace.
It's amazing! And... it just works. Why didn't I do this before???

Gestern Nextcloud Cookbook auf dem Raspi installiert. Funktioniert wunderbar und dank Android App sind die Rezepte auch ohne Laptop beim Kochen verfügbar. Meine Frau war fleissig und hat ihre Rezepte gleich übertragen, was bei den meisten nur den URL brauchte.
Und dank Freigabe können wir die gleiche Datenbasis sehen und pflegen.#nextcoud #cookbook #NextcloudCookbook #rezepte #raspberrypi

@jaywink I was pleased to find #Nextcoud Music would also play audio streams, and would display the track ID info from my radio.teledyn.com OGG stream!
Where it falls down, a little, is in sorting options. Most of my collection is not tagged properly (thank you iTunes) and while I can navigate by Files, I'd rather the Albums list stated Title and THEN artist; as your screenshot shows, "Various Artists" fifteen times is not carrying much useful information. 😉

Thinking of setting up a #selfhosted system. I'm looking at #yunohost and #freedombox. Not sure what else is out there in that kind of setup. Looking for something to help setup some services and build up. Currently will setup #NextCoud and maybe host my #WordPress site there. Eventually may try email and others... Open to any suggestions from people already doing this.

Heute das Upgrade von Debian 11 auf Debian 12 durchgeführt. Alles super, aber nextcloud möchte jetzt nicht mehr mit den clients zusammenarbeiten.
Hat jemand eine Ahnung wie ich das Problem lösen kann? Neuinstallation von nextcloud hat nicht geholfen...

Interessieren würde mich besonders, welche Anwendung (#WordPress, #Nextcoud, #Friendica, #Pixelfed, #Mastodon, #Matrix - das sind zur Zeit meine Experimentierfelder) ihr jeweils für welche Zwecke verwendet und wie diese sich ergänzen können.

@n0btc @AppleStrudelMan I like andOTP from the #FDroid store: Backups can be made in plaintext JSON files or encrypted. And I upload the backup file to my #Nextcoud instance.
