Why is it always a pain in the ass to login on mstdn.social? I cleared my cache memory on my laptop and I'm trying to login, and it won't take my email address, while I'm absolutely sure it is the right one. I'm writing this on Tusky. Very, very annoying and it is not the first time it happens.

I'm told other mastodon instances support AVIF and accounts can upload these files without a 500 error

It seems mstdn.social doesn't for some reason so its not a mastodon limitation per se but something instance by instance which is a shame because I know it takes time for changes and support for new things to roll out

Hi @stux the access tokens do have some validity period that’s not visible in UI? Or is there some other reason why existing tokens started to be invalid? #MstdnSocial after regenerating token all went to normality again.

The homepage https://mstdn.social/ now has some information. Apparently they have to restore their database (which obviously is a huge one at an instance large as this), and this takes some time.

Ummm. Of all days it's Today - the day Fedivision 2024 starts - that one of the largest Mastodon instances in existence is down :(

#search again is out of date on #MstdnSocial . It's been a struggle I guess keeping it running? The most recent results I get today, October 27th, are from October 12th.

Btw, the great 'activism.openworlds' instance we've been on is going offline in 2 days due to no funding.

Other interesting tidbits, #mstdnSocial blocks activism under false pretenses, and it seems that mastodon.#nzossNz, and #flossSocial block us. Also, our (DSFGS) account has somehow been limited to 173 followers for the past 2.5 years approx.

At least over a year ago, the #mstdnSocial instance blocked the entire instance that we are on due to supposed "racism", has anyone ever seen racism coming from *anyone* here?

Please BOOST to help find the racism.

Interesting. Thankfully its not as unusual as you'd think but there is some *very* bizarre accusations at our instance on there. Some people label the instance with "#racism"?!

Its very interesting that #mstdnSocial block us for supposed "racism" when it is #stux who has the neo-nazi sympathising, blue-and-yellow in their avatar.

Also apparently trying to de-radicalise an alt-righter is a cause of concern for some?
