Ganz ehrlich, ist weiss nicht, was daran schwierig ist zu Linux zu wechseln, man nimmt einen USB-Stick mit Linux drauf, am besten LinuxMint und lässt ihn booten und dann geht man auf Install und lässt das Setup alles machen.
Booten und sich freuen ... fertig .. Und Windows ist passee ;D -

Bin gerade daran, mein #MacbookProM1 mit macOS Tahoe neu aufzusetzen, damit ich nachher Asahi-Linux sauber installieren kann.
In der Zeit in der #macOS neu installiert, könnte ich ein Debian etwa 10x installieren... 😫😤

Ah herrlich. Linux ist einfach wunderbar. Ein ElementaryOS auf einem Lenovo Thinkpad 12" X230 bekommt immer noch updates und auch einen aktuellen Firefox 148 Browser. Für die Tageszeitung und die kleine Online-Bestellung von Schwiegervater reicht das allemal. Der alte i5 3230M mit 8GB RAM ist mehr als ausreichend. Lustig ist auch, dass FF und Webseiten teils schneller geladen werden als auf meinem modernen MacBook M4… #LinuxRocks #Debian

For those around, I moved from the #Framapiaf instance to the #linuxrocks instance.
My account at #Framapiaf was limited since Sept 2023 and it was never explained to me why: the mods have never answered, and I don't recall ever posting something remotely "controversial" in 2023, or ever.
Anyhow, I hope this instance is chill and welcoming. I saw some #Fedora stuff on their Peertube, and the moderation section didn't seem outrageous.

Super, mach weiter so, tolles Statement! Ich habe WIN die letzten 25 Jahre Schritt für Schritt abgelöst, und bin froh drüber. Auf Arbeit ständig Probleme mit dem WIN11/Teams/o365 Schlonz. Mit jedem größeren Update gehen gefühlt 2 Arbeitstage drauf bis wieder alles halbwegs läuft. Inzwischen zu Hause 100% Linux, alles funktioniert, gehostete #Nextcloud Instanz + #caldav / #carddav und schon ist alles synchronisiert.
War aber mit Halbwissen zeitweise echt hartes Brot, Grafiktreiber die nicht funktioniert haben Konfig-Frickelorgien für Drucker, DVD Kopierschutz,.... Insofern hat sich da bei den neuen Distros viel getan. Inzwischen Stelle ich fest, dass ich mit gefühlt jeder Distro arbeiten kann, nachdem #Phyton auf #opensuse ein Graus ist, läuft halt dafür eine virtuelle Maschine mit #Debian.Gesurft wird mit einem vernagelten/gehärteten #Fedora, das beim Abschalten alle Änderungen kickt. Kein voll laufender Cache, gefühlt keine personalisierten Daten, die Maschine hat nur nen Browser:-). Nachdem #qemu einmal mit online Tutorials halbwegs verstanden war, echt easy going mit grafischer Installation.
