Close up of a photograoh of my screen showing gooby at '60' demonstrating light seepage, or haleation, which is the way I experience most fonts on large screens. Larger sizes feel more 'crisp' because the fuzz' doesn't merge them.
A test of readability might be the gradual degradation in comfort as a font reduces in size (design changes) or increases in fuzziness (simulate macro degeneration changes)

Got light sensitivity? Want some fancy pink glasses?
Zenni's selling FL-41 pink tinted glasses in 3 intensities. Haven’t tried them yet. Would like to. Yrs back got a fab pair of therapeutic brown tinted polarized blue blocking sunglasses that are still my go-to from them

@feditips @IceCubesApp @gdawirs it could be, but I don’t know if #accessibility #settings confound it or what, but there’s more:
What’s with the #vanilla #emoji window and the #flashy #icon/emoji #light #ripples? You’d think that #LightSensitivity or #MotionSensitivity weren’t things anyone would care about
#Frankly, even with the #app’s #developer on #hiatus, #Metatext still out-shines #IceCubes enough to keep my preference

CW: incandescent light bulbs - light sensitivity
#DollarGeneral if stocked and manned still carries some #incandescent bulbs for those of us with #SensoryIssues, serious #LightSensitivity, and a #budget They also have affordable LED bulbs but only in bright blue. #Aldi has warm white bulbs for cheap but only in bright. I prefer 25 & 40 watt incandescent bulbs. Upgrading would force me to live w 2-3x brighter light in my home - which would trigger #migraine.

Dear light-sensitive people, can you please share experiences with or recommendations for FL-41 glasses?
I am looking for something that will help me navigate the harsh lights at my work place. I do have a rather small skull, so I often have to look long and hard for sunnies that don't slide off my nose. Hence, I'm looking for FL-41 glasses that have a relatively small fit. Do you have any recommendations?
Do you have any other advice that you can share? Thanks!

Hmm 🤔 last time we were here, it was raining like mad and still dark when we headed home. I did bring my clip-over, and my sunglasses, but they're both in the car. So of course now it does get rather light as we walk here...
Hope my eyes won't be too bothered, as I will have to drive us home in a bit. I'll have my clip then but I could also have a headache...
Light sensitivity is hard at times... (well, at times when there is light, which people like to have and I'll be like... That's a bit too much for me).I wish it was easier to explain how just normal daylight, even at the start of the day, can feel overwhelming and a trigger for a bad headache. 😔

If you have sensitivity to bright lights, it's definitely worth investing in dimmable lightbulbs for your place. I usually have my lights on no higher than 50% brightness, enough to see by but not to induce a headache, and only turn them up for working on detailed art/crafts. Dimmable lights are a game changer. #ActuallyAutistic #SensoryIssues #LightSensitivity

CW: Android accessibility question (light sensitivity)
I really love the "Extra dim" accessibility feature, which helps a lot for my light sensitivity. However, I already often use it even during during the day (with shut window blinds), so even the extra dimmest level is sometimes too bright in the night. Is there a (non-root) way to make the display even dimmer than that? (Without turning it off, obviously.)
For #Firefox (more precisely: Mull Browser on #FDroid), there's the Dark Reader add-on. It does it's job very well (when I set the contrast to highest, the background is completely black / turned off AMOLED); so at least I have an option for web browsing.

I'm over sensitive to most light.
I always though it was something awry with the muscles in my eyes, but maybe it is another #AuctuallyAutistic trait in me.

CW: #Autistic complaint
My nearest neighbor to the south is about 500 ft away. They have a HUGE carport that's a little uphill from us and they leave the lights on in the carport all night. It was annoying until all the leaves fell. Now their lights give me headaches. I'm going to have to go talk with them about it, but I suspect it's not going to go well. May just need to get blackout curtains for the entire house. #ActuallyAutistic #LightSensitivity
