current books flow:
book ➡️ track on #LibraryThingfuture maybe:
book ➡️ update data on #OpenLibrary ➡️ import book OL data into #BookWyrm ➡️ track on BookWyrmwhy:
- simpler tracking site with less features seems less stressful. read more, online less (BW)
- supports open source projects (BW, OL)
- public data helps everyone (OL)why I haven't switched yet:
- love LibraryThing's features: full edition control, stats, recs, data, etc.plan: try the new flow for a while, then decide... :bunthink:

Today your friendly neighborhood rodent imported all of the #SROP books into #LibraryThing, just for fun. It worked. The part that didn't work was covers. Oh, well, nobody judges a book by its lurid cover, right?

#GoodReads was considerate enough to inform me that I have not succeeded in completing my reading goals for 2025 (No shit. Not a great year for sustained focus...:-/)
This also reminds me that I need to get the fuck off of Goodreads(Amazon) and stop using it. It's been crap for years and will, most likely, continue to be so.
About 2(?) years ago I exported all my lists over to #LibraryThing (?); but, I never managed to start using it.Getting off Goodreads seems to be a good little resolution to complete for my New Year.
I don't really consider my reading much of a social activity; but, I do like having a public database of books, and creating some #ReadingLists is useful, to me. Also, the incremental tracking important, since I'm usually in the middle of about 6+ books at a time.
Are there any other applications I might consider besides LibraryThing? Suggestions?

I bought a CueCat from LibraryThing when they first got them. It was so useful to me when cataloging my book and graphic novels library.
Their holiday store has them on sale for $5 for the holidays.
Now you can use a mobile phone, but back then it wasn't an option.
But you get a neat little plastic cat sculpture with a USB tail and flashing red mouth with a CueCat.
Useful for Bookwyrm.

This is the view walking up into the section of the Pawtucket Library that used to house the physics books. I love the decorative steel stairway.
