thoughts on as a current user of :

📚 LT has more stats, edition control, multiple shelves, coherent database, common knowledge & more book info, public tags, recs, etc.
📚 SG has a progress tracker, challenges, cooler review structure, etc.

    if i use both:
acquire book ➡️ add to LT ➡️ add to SG
➡️ start reading ➡️ track progress on SG
➡️ finish ➡️ mark finished on SG
📚 LT would be used as a library catalog
📚 SG would be the reading tracker

  10. Just finished #reading 'Play It Again' by Alan Rusbridger - a tale of one man’s year long quest to master an insanely difficult #Piano piece, #Chopin Ballade #1. A fascinating glimpse into a rarefied world and an inspiring personal accomplishment, especially for amateur pianists and the science of #learning

  15. Marwahussain's inkpotandpages’ 2026 Literary Cannibalism Challenge is reading 12 decolonial books that cannibalize on 'western classics'.

This month I want to read Jean Rhys.- Wide Sargasso Sea and V.S. Naipaul - A Bend in the River responding, adding to, changing perspective of Jane Eyre and Heart of Darkness respectively.

But while 'classic' does mean 'know of it, could say something about it'; it certainly does NOT mean 'I have read the book from cover to cover'.

Jane Eyre & Heart of Darkness are examples of that kind of 'classicality'. So for me the challenge is really reading 24 books. Which makes it even better ofcourse.

  16. Your reading ever get stymied by a particular book? It took me forever to finish I Saw the Sky Catch Fire. So only 2 books this month.

  17. In April 2026, I finished reading 8 books. I'm now caught up on the #DungeonCrawlerCarl series and awaiting the next book on May 12. And still making progress on #Spellmonger. I didn't realize just how many books there would be when I started (19 and counting!? plus several anthologies and two side trilogies). My roomie opted to read the trilogies in story order, but I'm skipping the side quests for now. I want to know what happens!

My #nonfiction selection for April was the audiobook version of Scrappy Little Nobody by Anna Kendrick. I needed something lighter, and that fit the bill. I added a couple of her movies I haven't seen to my watch list. And I think I'll watch Into The Woods again. Boy, do I hate Annie, though.

  18. It's a new month - you know what that means. Storygraph monthly graphics time! Let's do a collage of covers this month.

    13 marked finished.
    3 shorts
2 audiobooks (Wool and Children of Strife
A couple finished from previous months - I'd been Reading Nicholas Nickleby since February.
    Engleby for my book club
One of my own sneaking in there. 😁

1,971 pages read, 50 hours of listening (the hours include 2 that are still in progress.

    An excellent reading month!

  19. What if you could visualise your entire reading history laid out? That's what I've attempted to do.

What kind of genres did I read as a kid? What were the moods of the book? Do I prefer slower or faster paced books? Watch me go into the rabbit hole!

  20. Author name starts with "N" - April 24, 2026 - This book is about a plane crash and the sole survivor, a twelve year old boy. It flips between the hours leading up to the crash and the boy's recovery and ongoing life. It's both sad and hopeful.

    Rating ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 3/4

  21. I'd never claim these answers are forever, but these are the favorite #books I chose today:

"A Short Stay in Hell" by Steven L Peck
"The Man Without a Shadow" by Joyce Carol Oates
"The Long Walk" by Stephen King
"Living With a Wild God" by Barbara Ehrenreich

  22. CW: Ramblings on reading multiple books at the same time

I joined #StoryGraph at the beginning of 2025 and I have been tracking pages/minutes read ever since. One major innovation is that I can easily keep track of reading multiple books at the same time. Without StoryGraph I would be overwhelmed by having so many (8-11, of various formats and genres) on the go at the same time, but with it each work is sorted neatly with its progress bar in my brain.

Another benefit is that while I read a considerable number of books, each takes me a chunk of days and so habitates in my brain for longer, leaving more of an impression than if I finished it in just a couple days.

  23. Author name starts with "C" - April 19, 2026 - This book was really well written. A prince, a spy, a thief, a strongman, a nobleman and an assassin are thrown together in a plot to kill the king. Each has their own secrets, hidden agendas, and reasons for treason. There's one twist that was predictable, but the author still managed to surprise me and thrill me.

  24. I salivate over the next up list on my #StoryGraph like an egg-stealing dinosaur salivates over which dinosaur egg to gobble up next

  25. #Books:

According to #StoryGraph, I mainly read #fiction books that are adventurous, dark, and mysterious. I especially love #fantasy and #scifi, but I also enjoy mysteries, thrillers, and romance.

Some of my favorite authors are Anne McCaffrey, Terry Pratchett, Stephen King, Brandon Sanderson, Robert R. McCammon, David Sedaris, and Diana Gabaldon.

Series and titles I love include The Talisman, Mistborn, Discworld, Outlander, Dragonriders of Pern, Wheel of Time, Murderbot Diaries, Earthseed, and Memoirs of a Geisha. Currently enjoying the Dungeon Crawler Carl and Spellmonger series.
