Today’s #decluttering #archaeology involved digging through the Drawer of #Ancient #Hardware™. I unearthed five old HDDs that had been sitting there for about ten years. Two still work, producing the nostalgic, oddly comforting #ASMR of dung beetles in tiny plate armours staging a pitched battle. The discs revealed some long-forgotten backups and sentimental files. I also discovered that I apparently own about a dozen of #HDD #jumpers (I could swear I own two). I suspect they multiply when you look away.

I need a momentary button switch (a reset button) that can solder into one of these through-hole pairs, more often used for jumper pins. I can't find any with simply through pins - such buttons always have the rounded fin connectors with an in-bored hole.
Anyone know where I can find such a button? Thanks.

Again on the #powerbook 170: i'm trying to understand how the heck should I set the #bluescsi #termination #jumpers. The website http://dehij.hiddej.nl/ is offline. I could find it on the #waybackmachine , but it doesn't load...
BTW, I found a schematic on https://github.com/dehij/powerbook-bluescsi . That's the v2 schematic, but it seems very similar to the v1.1a I've got (they changed only some footprints, I believe). I see I can, using the jumpers, set the #SCSI #SCSI_IO pin to 5v, to ground or to #TERM_PWR (that's another SCSI pin). I unerstand I should terminate the bus, as there's no other devices connected, but I really have no clue on how I should set those jumpers.... -
Invisible Jumpers
Photographer Joseph Ford and knitter Nina Dodd have for the last several years worked on their collaborative project called Invisible Jumpers, in which Dodd would knit a garment that blends in with a chosen environment and then Ford would photograph the wearer. The book was published in 2019 ... but the project continues adding animals, arists, musicians to the project. As Ford explains:
"The locations have to be eye-catching but simple enough to be able to be knitted. They also have to be places that aren’t going to change too fast, as the knitting takes a few weeks...
Once I’ve found the location, I photograph someone standing where I would like the model to be in the final picture. I draw over this scouting photograph and annotate the picture with different colors and patterns so Nina can plan how to knit. Often there are 10 or 12 different shades of yarn in a single picture, and up to 24 balls of wool at any one time for the more complicated designs. The choice of yarn has varied according to the background."

Fixed my parent’s “FreeSat” DVR box for less than £12 with a replacement 2.5” hard drive… it was a success, they can now pause live tv again, no excuse to not answer the phone to me because they are watching bakeoff!
Framed the antique maps I bought myself for my birthday (two more frames to arrive in the post for the final two maps).
I also got some cozy warm jumpers with cats on them for cool season

One yarn I can't get away with is cotton. I had to really force myself to finish this evil eye granny square blanket. It was from Hobbii and 70% off! Was making 2 freeform cushions with leftovers but have hidden them under the bed. I like a bit of give in yarns. Also a super chunky premium acrylic which crocheted up like a board. Never again.

IT'S OFFICIAL: THERE'S ONLY ONE
MONTH UNTIL CHRISTMAS 🎅⏳️🤶That means it's time to dig out those Christmas jumpers, folks! 🙈
Here's a photo of my Bichon Frise, Fizzi, modelling his favourite festive sweater (which comes with an attached bobble hat for added cuteness)
And if your pup doesn't have a Christmas jumper...
Suggest they write a letter to Santa Paws asking for one! 🤣📄🖋🐕
