Both meanings of the word vain.

I was watching some preachers on youtube this morning (because I'm kind of weird that way).

It seems vain to believe that humanity is the main character in this incredible cosmos.

We haven't even managed to take care of the only planet that we can live on but sure, the universe awaits our arrival on the main stage. 🙄

We're doing Dunning-Kruger as a species without even realizing we're doing Dunning-Kruger.

Europe should summon the courage to enforce its laws (which are not random but reflect the values of millions of people) and dedicate the resources to develop alternative forms of digital technology ( #opensource, #dataprivacy respecting, #humancentric ) that are aligned with those values and laws.

You don't get to earn the privilege of existing as an independent culture if you just blindly and lazily follow what other societies think is moral.

I guess and also hope that the #Twitter desaster has at least one good side effect. The shift of the paradigm about how we use the #web, #internet, and #socialmedia as a whole. No matter what happens to Musk's playground, people start to realize that we need more independent and #HumanCentric systems, where we OWN the data and not ARE the data.

I think we now have the big chance, to influence this movement into a direction that fits for way more people than the old.
