Gestern im #XMLPrague-Vortrag »Ant Visualiser« von Ari Nordström gesehen, dass er Mindmaps im #Freeplane-Format erzeugt. Nutze das Tool sporadisch, wusste aber noch nicht, dass die *.mm-Dateien XML-basiert und somit auch via Transformation erzeugbar sind. Bringt mich auf Ideen.

#TIL mit der App #MindNote kann man #Freeplane Dateien (.mm) auf dem iPhone aus Onedrive heraus öffnen. Der visuelle Modus macht da wenig Sinn, aber es gibt einen Outline-Modus und der funktioniert super 😎 #pkm #clcpkm

it's funny to see in the SourceForge of #Freeplane (a mindmap software), how they have in the folder tree, a section which says "don't use me, 'cause files are not intended to be used by general public"... and I was like.. so, then why do you leave it at the sight of everyone??... :thinking: 🥴

Au boulot, j'utilise #Freeplane (carte heuristique, préinstallé) pour ma prise de note et compte-rendu en tous genres. Il y a un truc qui me chiffonne : comment classer les fils dans l'ordre de création ?

Parce que c'est une fois à droite, une fois à gauche, donc ça peut vite devenir incompréhensible... (J'aimerai une lecture dans le sens des aiguilles d'une montre, à partir de 13h).

Si quelqu'un a une idée, je suis preneur 😄

For learning from a talk or a textbook. I prefer hand-drawn/-written notey :

Looks to me like a plain insult to anyone who has a decent mind.
Actually that probably was made by this @ bitPick guy. He once won an IT competition using a joke of mine at @unikassel, he even got an internship contract, can you believe that?
Than he made them invest in #mindManager, crashed the entire IT #GNUlinux setup of #FB11 for a whole weekend .. only to use now #FOSS and #freePlane to do his show off.

Little things in #PKM have a way of multiplying.

I added a note about reinstalling the #FreePlane #GTD+ plugin https://docs.freeplane.org/getting-started/Add-ons_(install).html#freeplanegtd-1 to my #OrgRoam INBOX only to discover "GTD" wasn't in my personal dictionary in #Emacs. To synchronize between devices and apps a separate SwypeWords.md also had to be updated along with adding that link to my shared bookmarks file...

I agree that the graphic output of #Freeplane could be improved, closer to the original Buzan mind mapping style. I had tried in the past several other programs. The reason I stick with FreePlane is that its free and AND has been and is still continuously developped. A lot of the others you need either to buy ( and you have no way to suggest improvements) or they have only a short livespan. I think I have maps that are at least 10 years old 😁

@amadeus @cobratbq well, #FreePlane has a clean and simple UI. I don't see how then you find it "not modern" ? And it has a wealth of features to be discovered : linking among nodes, among different maps, to files, directories and websites, searching across maps; notes, tags and actions for each node, different styles, freefloating nodes, all kinds of formating forceach node .....

Yes, I have been using #Freeplane for years for #MindMapping:it is great, regularly improved, has an active community and even a Zotero plugin 😁
