Okay! Final Fantasy XII is done! ✅ I had a blast with this one and I intend to come back to complete sometime down the line
Edit: I forgot to mention that the final boss in this one is *goofy* but that final form with the angel wings made of scrap metal was fucking sick :skaterRat:

So, it's gotten to the point where I'm facing high-level marks and I'm faced with a question: do I keep working on finishing the hunts (and collecting achievements) or do I move on to the end of the game? I'm really enjoying my time with the game but I have a BIG list of games to play... I can always come back and keep working on them later if I want. I don't know - what should I do?

When I played this game the first time, I was miffed because none of the summons were the classic Final Fantasy summons... But this time around, I'm realizing that they're actually cool as hell! Like this one. It's hard to tell from the screenshot but it's a Baphomet-looking ass lightning goat! That is, hands down, some of the coolest shit I've seen in a Final Fantasy game

I was describing how to unlock the Hell Wyrm to my wife and she said "that sounds impossible". That made me realize that, if someone were to ask, I would *not* recommend this one to first time Final Fantasy players 😅

But holy bejesus, I love the combat in this one. The gambits are just so satisfying when they're working the way I want. Plus, I'm slowly learning to tweak them mid-battle when they're not. Absolutely brilliant and I wish they would try something like this again

I forgot how obtuse the puzzles got to be in this game 🥴 ...I have no principles - I'm looking them up if they take too long to figure out

This game is soooo close to feeling modern. That's really impressive considering it came out nearly twenty years ago. It falls short, though... Like, I wish I didn't have to go three menus deep to find the location of the hunt I'm after. And I wish I could fast travel directly from the world map. Still, it's interesting to see how close they got to modern game design decades ago!

The story has finally got its hooks in me. I remember the story being pretty mid, but maybe I was wrong about that 🤷

I don't remember anything that happened from here on out. Come to think of it, I don't really remember the final boss... It's kind of like playing a brand new game. I'm excited to see what comes next lol

Trying to get my bench warmers leveled up is going okay... except I am fucking obliterating my stock of Phoenix Downs :birdsite: Trying to clean up hunts while I still have Larsa at the same time might not be the best idea!

I played like 1hour of Knights of the old Republic and it looks verb promising and compatible to the kind of games I like.Which means I maybe should stop playing these fruitless side quests in #FFXII

Graficamente Final Fantasy XII mi lascia a bocca aperta: i volti dei personaggi sono strabilianti con delle espressioni credibili e sguardi profondi, lo shot è stato fatto da #PCSX2 a 720p.
Il character design mi ricorda un po' Vagrant Story, altro titolo incredibilmente bello, ma un po' sottovalutato, per PS1. -
#FinalFantasyXII, che ho sempre snobbato chissà per quale motivo, mi sta piacendo, e graficamente devo dire che è veramente bello 💖

I've been bad at posting updates here
#GameDev wise, I've finished the enemies for another two rooms in #ZRWP (which I count as 0.5 of a room each), and will finish the writing for those two today
Hoping to get another few rooms done by the end of February, although I'll maybe want to re-balance some of the level requirements before I make too much more progress
Relatedly, if you like #JRPG #RPG games and are interested in helping beta test, please let me know!
In non-dev stuff, I've been playing #FFXII (#FinalFantasy12) at the recommendation of a couple friends... I'm currently just through the Lhusu Mines and discovering Quickenings, and generally really enjoying the game so far!
It's kind of interesting to play this immediately after Soul Hackers 2, because the two games are somewhat opposites in the JRPG space (from character aesthetics and the UI to combat style to music to the worlds in which they take place), but they're both very good in their own way

Aunque se me ha hecho que podría desarrollar más ciertos personajes (Fran y Penelo concretamente), me ha parecido uno de los mejores FF en cuanto a historia y desarrollo, destacando a Baltier por encima de todos los demás.El mundo de Ivalice y las tramas entre imperios molan bastante y también me hubiera gustado algo más de historia y contexto de algunas partes del mundo.
El sistema Gambit me ha gustado bastante y creo que es el punto donde más cerca se han tocado un Final Fantasy con el sistema de combate de Baldur's Gate de tiempo real con pausa. Donde me ha flojeado es en invocaciones; no las he visto con la misma importancia que en otros Final Fantasy.
Con la grima que me da el tontainas de Tidus, es mi FF favorito de entre el X y XII sin pensármelo.
