Para sorpresa de nadie finalmente volví a abandonar el #FinalFantasyXII. No es tan aburrido como lo recordaba, pero si adolece de todos los problemas que tenían los #JRPG: lentos y repetitivos. Y ya no tengo la paciencia ni el tiempo para abordarlos.

Así que aprovechando que se ha puesto de moda otra vez hace poco con su remake, acabo de empezar el #MetalGearSolid3 Subsistance en la #PS2 original por primera vez. Gráficamente es un portento para tratarse de un juego de hace casi 20 años. Veremos qué tal ha envejecido la historia y la jugabilidad.

Apparently, today marks the 19th anniversary of “Final Fantasy XII”’s release.
By coincidence, I’ve happened to pick up the game again after finding it in a second hand shop two weeks ago. I was surprised to see how well it stood the test of time.
It hasn’t the cult following the “Final Fantasy X” has, and frankly I think it should. A lot of people seem to be sleeping on it, and I think it’s worth revisiting, especially when it’s on many levels a blueprint for what “Final Fantasy XIV” would become.

Gonna get my Final Fantasy XII disc resurfaced this weekend; the Vaseline trick only worked for a little bit. I think I'm strong enough to beat Judge Ghis at least.

Yay the petroleum jelly trick worked on my FF12 disk uwu the copy I got from Ebay was scratched and would make CG cutscenes load really slowly (or in one case not load at all), but the Vaseline seems to have done the trick. Currently purposely setting off alarms nearby a save crystal so I can grind lol

I have hunted a vicious wolf and a rogue tomato. I've snuck into the royal palace and stole a magic gem from the idol of a goddess while bombs dropped all around. I tamed the angry fire elemental that screamed a war horse's scream as an inferno raged around it. I am currently in prison in a foreign nation.

I really liked the combat in #FinalFantasyXII, and liked the idea of the epic sweep of the story, though I was a little let down by the concept of protagonist Vaan as simply a “witness to history”, which meant that there wasn’t much character growth for him or most of the cast. In fact, only Ashe and Basch can be said to have a character arc at all. #NintendoSwitch

I finished #FinalFantasyXII on Sunday. I kind of expected the final dungeon and boss rush would be longer than it was, and suddenly I realized “oops, ending movie and end credits.” #NintendoSwitch

Collected the Omega Badge, just to prove I took down the big guy. #FinalFantasyXII

My magic-users must be comically over-leveled, because taking down the hardest boss in the game turned out to be pretty easy. #FinalFantasyXII
