played some #tribes aerial assault in #pcsx2 because i saw there was a pretty thriving community for it online... the bots smoked me. i think i'll stick to single player.

also, the #dualshock4 controller with the official back buttons module is really nice to use with games in pcsx2. improves ergonomics when combined with the emulator's ability to remap the normal controls. helps with aging button maps.

Turns out #PCSX2 won’t even scan my home directory on #POP!OS, tried on two machines and it just doesn’t, SUCKS! :firepoop:

Just ripped all my PS2 games: almost 40 Gigs of bin/toc-cue and iso images. Next is test those Logitech controllers and dongles, and the PS2 controller port to USB adapter. #PCSX2

I've been replaying Gran Turismo 3 recently. Played it so much on my PS2 (which I still own) back in the day, though playing on an emulator at 4K with no DVD loading times is pretty sweet now.

There's so much charm to this game that's lacking in a lot of modern sim-racing games - it's reminding me why I loved it so much 25 years ago.

I'm getting the itch to get get my old slim #playstation2 up and running on the living room TV.
If anyone has any advice or helpful information about #modding I'd be grateful to hear!

I think I'll just get an RCA-HDMI converter first, see if it's something I wanna keep up with, and then maybe get a phat model to do an HDD mod on.

OR should I look at a #minipc for #emulation... 🤔

So far #Bazzite is working just fine but I still need to become familiar with it and its apps.
The important thing is that everything works.
I've just formatted my secondary HD using btrfs ( #Steam install its games only on Btrfs drives ) and I tried a small (in size) game and it's working fine.

Next up on our #RetroGaming tangent we have another two-for-one, starting with Champions of Norrath: Return to Arms before switching over to some Perfect Dark.

I have fond memories of both of these games, especially PD. Champions: RtA, along with Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, was a game that my brother and I played quite often together, farming gear and beating up dudes. It's something I never really thought about until recently but it hits all the same notes as Diablo and PoE does nowadays, so it's no wonder why we loved playing them as much as we did.

This was still back before I upgraded my PC (due to the whole global trade routes being disrupted because of a singular canal being blocked), so things were getting a little stuttery for a bit. Once I was able to upgrade things got a lot easier on my system (hence returning to Drakengard as mentioned earlier this week).

Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance (2002). В предшествующей части мой исторический экскурс по известной серии остановился на достаточно печальной ноте, противоречивом переходе в полное 3D и двух экспериментальных, но, увы, провальных проектах. После перерыва в пять лет, прошедших с выхода последней полноценно номерной части, разработчики окончательно решили оставить концепцию оцифрованных персонажей и FMV-вставок в прошлом, сосредоточившись на ранее заданном векторе. Направлении, которое по прежнему подразумевало не только несколько угловатые модели, но и общий акцент на, до очередной радикальной смены подхода, что последует годами позже, подачу в трёхмерном пространстве. По дороге было решено оставить прошлые хитросплетения сюжета в прошлом, фактически первый раз перезапустив сюжетную канву с участием как былых, так и новых персоналий.
