Excerpt from my #journal today... 👉🏼 Live the truth. The only way to truly comprehend the truth is to live it.

The only way to truly comprehend any truth is to live it. Even then, we're susceptible to blind spots.

Perhaps true comprehension is when we can view, understand, and process any #truth on all three levels.

Third-hand: reading, #intellectual understanding
Second-hand: observation, #empirical understanding
First-hand: living, #experiential understanding

Most of us are content with intellectual, third-hand understanding. We go to school, we read books, we learn from teachers.

Scientists take it one step further. We conduct experiments and observe the results. Still, there's an objectivity there that stands in the way of the deepest understanding.

That's where travelers, #lovers, astronauts, #explorers, and #psychonauts come in. We strive to live our knowledge. We live to experience the insights we've gleaned from other means.

We want to #embody our truth.

New #HermanMiller #Embody working well so far, obviously it'll take a while to break in and learn how to adjust better.

And I've been lucky to avoid serious chair-related back problems so far (AFAIK; I do have some lower back pain, but likely due to posture and being wicked out of shape) — thus I don't expect the common story of "got an Embody and now my back's better!".

But I expect to hopefully /avoid/ or at least /forestall/ such issues now!

Also it's very pretty.

Good news: got to sit in a bunch of (used) office chairs today, including a #HermanMiller #Embody.

Bad news: I got to sit in a #HermanMiller #Embody. 💸 🤑

Lots more research to do yet, and not a done deal, but now I understand why they get so many reccos (esp for us folks whose size/shape is way off the bell curve). #chairs #WFH

Selling a Herman Miller #Embody for anyone that might be in or around the #Boston area. I imagine there are some desk geeks around here who might enjoy such a thing. Fully adjustable arms, Dark Carbon (Sync) fabric, 2 1/2" translucent casters and graphite titanium base. Used like new. $800 or best offer. (Yes, I've posted elsewhere already. I figured the demographic here may enjoy this item in particular. 😉)
