Jak podaje @growerocznice, dziś 21. urodziny Psychonauts, a tak się składa, że parę dni temu ukończyłem wreszcie część drugą. Czekałem na nią tak długo, że jak już w końcu wyszła, to... przeleżała na mojej hałdzie wstydu kolejnych parę lat. A niesłusznie, bo to sequel doskonały i gra co najmniej tak dobra jak pierwowzór!

Ponownie wcielamy się w Razputina, młodocianego psychonautę, który nie uczy się już wykorzystywania swoich mocy psionicznych na letnim wyjeździe, lecz zostaje wplątany w pełnoskalową intrygę szpiegowską. Klimat się więc nieco zmienił, a skala świata powiększyła, co ma szczególne znaczenie, bo czego tu nie zmieszczono! Przyjaźń, zdrada, agenci grający na dwa fronty, nekromancja, hipnoza, tony znajdziek, no i nie zapominajmy o zmyślonym państwie Grulovia, które szczególnie skradło mi serce. Wszystko to zostało napisane niezwykle lekko, ale jednocześnie błyskotliwie.

Last year I have completed 7 games. From best to worst:

1. Fire Emblem Engage
2. Scarlet Nexus
3. Chrono Trigger
4. A Hat in Time
5. Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart
6. Psychonauts
7. Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail

I had played some of them before but have only finished them last year. Even the “worst” which is Dawntrail was still a fine experience.

Lately, I've been playing #Psychonauts 2 in my free time (read: when I'm too tired to do anything remotely useful) — and I heartily recommend it. The first one was great, and this one's a worthy sequel.

The game's quite neat, it frustrated me only a little sometimes. It's full of humor, and a bit psychodelic. It works great on wine, manages 2160p on my budget hardware. Surprisingly, it recognizes DualShock controllers, and therefore is one of the few PC games I've played that shows correct button labels instead of assuming everyone does Xbox controllers (sigh!).

A ja ostatnio w wolnym czasie (czy raczej, jak już nie mam siły robić nic pożytecznego) pykam w #Psychonauts 2 — i szczerze polecam. Jedynka była świetna, i dwójka to godny sequel.

Gra się całkiem przyjemnie, tylko w paru miejscach można doznać odrobiny frustracji. Jest sporo humoru, trochę psychodelii. Działa pięknie na wine, 2160p wyciąga przy moim budżetowym sprzęcie. Przyjemne zaskoczenie — rozpoznaje DualShocka, i jako jedna z niewielu gier na PC pokazuje mi właściwe oznaczenia przycisków, zamiast zakładać, że wszyscy mają układ Xboksa (ble!).

A short, inventive VR puzzle experience that could use better gameplay signposting—but like everything Double Fine does, is nearly faultless in presentation.

That's where travelers, #lovers, astronauts, #explorers, and #psychonauts come in. We strive to live our knowledge. We live to experience the insights we've gleaned from other means.

Just finished Mike Jay's fantastic #Psychonauts - Drugs and the Making of the Modern Mind. Riveting, richly sourced exploration of #psychoactive #drugs from #chloroform to #cannabis - focusing on self-experimentation and interpretations by scientists, doctors, and artists in the 19th century.

Highly recommended! Perhaps especially for those of us researching #psychedelics as the book provides so much historical context, contrast, and antecedents to what's going on with psychoactives now.
