Argh new JHS Coyote fuzz pedal looks neat. knob sweeps from starved to fuzz to octave, gradually.

Okay, I did it. Everything is re-organized and plugged in. Using one #OneSpot and one #Cioks 4 for power and a variety of second hand patch cables.

Totally unsure if this is the signal paths I want but, it'll do for now. I'm not too worried. In the next few months I'll have my loop switcher.

Mostly #NativeAudio #effectsPedals here. There's a new one on the way and I still have to get the Commodity Fuzz (PM me if you'll sell me one!)

Currently, there are five distortion/fuzz pedals here. All in different places. lol. Two phasers!

Need a vol pedal and multitude of expression controllers. Then, I'm just about done & it'll be time to build a #pedalboard.

I am disappointed in the #EarthQuakerDevices tentacle octave pedal. It doesn't really do anything. On low notes it adds a meh-sounding distortion. I can't tell if it's even adding an octave on the highest notes or just making them sound a little brighter.

No wonder the guy was selling it. After the fact, I went to EQD's website & they say in the FAQ it's not really for #bass & might make bad noises. On guitar, to use above 12th fret.

I've relegated it for use exclusively after delay+reverb. It looks cool.

Anyways, this Frydead Fuzz sounds good.

I have to admit that setting this all back up after moving it into a new room is a bit overwhelming. 😅 lol

It's been a while since I've used these. I've been using my "mono NativeAudio rig" or simply a multi-effects pedal for daily practice. So, now I'm redoing the signal path and all that. It'd be much easier if I had a loop switcher but that's gonna run ~$2k so.. gonna be a while.

Here's one way to use a tremolo pedal.

Plug it into a parallel mixer / loop switcher with a distortion so it blends the distortion in and out to give a noxious pulse.
Plug a fuzz into a different loop and run the dry signal through.
Reverb full wet with its own overdrive pedal in another loop.
Blend to taste.

My #NativeAudio mono #pedalboard is coming along nicely. Only a handful more to go.

The bottom row is before the amp and the rest are in the FX loop. Signal chain is from right to left and right to left. Yes, that is a nasty overdrive After the reverb and it sounds wicked. You should try it some time.

When the collection is complete, the actual board/shelf that holds these will have a blacklight. 😋

I'm spun back around to wanting analogue #musicEquipment & #effectsPedals.

Not because of that "vintage tone" all the classic rock guys cream corn themselves over. There is something special about the limitations, imperfections, and how it reacts. Yes, I'll conceed there.

Though, I stand by high quality digital when set up properly can technically sound better. That's not what #heavyMetal is about anyway, is it? I never got that memo.

What I like about #analogue gear has to do with the #RightToRepair. It's tangible components.

Plus, as a #LibreSoftware / #FreeSoftware enthusist, it seems wrong to intentionally have anything proprietary.

A call to #pedal makers! As far as I know there’s no such thing as a pedal that takes a mic via XLR and gives you gain control and improves tone, maybe gives you reverb and that’s IT. Any vocal processing unit will do that, but they wanna focus on harmonies & pitch correction that I don’t want. ALL I want is the smallest pedal possible to give me gain and tone control, maybe a dash of reverb / delay. Please make that for me and I’ll buy one! #guitarpedals #effectspedals

Swapped out some pedals in the stompbox bay of the Sallytron rack, including a Vox 1904 Wah from the early 80s. This was an old favourite in Raagnagrok setups, giving a rich purring tone. Also noteworthy here is the Line 6 Otto Filter, which was known within the Stellamarisdroneorchestra as the Gary Filter because with the correct settings dialled in it appeared to pronounce the word "gary" quite distinctly.

Today's studio innovation involved setting up a stompbox shelf on the Sallytron rack. I mean, I've got all of these fx pedals knocking around, so I might as well use them from time to time, right?

BTW: That's an Electro Harmonix HOG and a Line 6 Echo Park, wired into the FX return loop of the mixer.

Checked the serial number, 109115, and that's from September 1981. That can't be true, this is definitely a Taiwanese version, even the serial sticker says so. And it can run on a battery. But the PCB version is from 1984. Oh I love these kinds of little mysteries hidden in such a small object.

This battered Boss DS-1 caught my attention. Asked the seller where it was made. Taiwan, so not the more sought after Japanese version. But the thing is, early Taiwanese versions were basically the same as their Japanese counterparts, up until 1994. Then Boss started using a dual opamp instead of the TA7136 IC which meant the design had to be changed.

So could this be an early Taiwanese version with the much desired Toshiba opamp?

My step son, Harry, will be proud of me. I just finished watching Better Call Saul. He really wanted me to watch it. He was raving about it all the time. Now I’ve watched the whole series and he can finally talk to me about it without worrying about spoilers.

Subject change. I mentioned that I bought a few new guitar pedals over the last week. I haven’t had a chance to try them out yet. I’m debating whether I want to integrate them into the board I use at home, or should I make a brand new pedal board instead. I’m leaning toward a new board. Just for a while at least. Just for schnitzengiggles.

Subject change. We have a couch delivery scheduled for this morning. The delivery window they gave me is pretty long. It extends into my work day and it overlaps two scheduled meetings. Here’s hoping we get lucky and the truck gets here early enough to not mess anything up.

Subject change. Our mouse hunting cats had a target last night. We woke up in the middle of the night to see them chasing a gross little teeny tiny rodent around. At the time, the little bastard got away. We don’t see any signs of the prick this morning, but the cats are clearly still on high alert. We live in the woods. One of the biggest rivers in New England runs smack through our town. Mice are a part of life. Still… go get the little home invading asshole, cats. Do your job. Protect your house.

Okay. Time to go start the day. That delivery truck is going to be here… eventually.
