Latest update. A brand new JHS Tighty Whitey Compressor and an old Amuzik Octpus Octaver (because I realised I wasn’t using 1 of the 12 power slots). #jhs #guitar #pedalboard #pedals #fxpedal

Back in the #1970s I set up a #onemanband. #JesseFuller was my #inspiration and his Fotdilla. My equivalent were self generating bass #pedals. I upgraded over years. The ELKA SGP150 were the last set. They died around 2014.
I bought #Studiologic MP-113 MIDI pedals as a replacement with a Midiplus MiniEngine sound generator, but the combination never worked well so the band's been in abeyance since then. I always claim the band broke up due to #musical #differences
Last week I #discovered the #Behringer Pro VS Mini, a pocket sized #synthesiser. The one man band could be on the way to performing again.

#Pedals with clipping shoes gave me a surprise yesterday: I jumped over a hole, even though I only wanted to soften the hit.
I'm gonna strike the iron while it's hot and learn bunny hopping on the way to town today. First lesson: meerkat position.

Bass Guitar unboxing
This is my elegant Bass guitar, built by Ibanez.
- It was fabricated in Mexico
- QC was Zero
- the third string plays 3 to 6dB softer than the others
- the soldering work is shoddy. I soldered much neater when I was a 8 year old boy
- All the potentiometers came with dust pre installed, generating annoying scratching noise in my Analogue Signal chain.
- None of the strings had the proper hight in mm. I have had to adjust those myself
- The truss rod needed some adjustments also, since the neck was not under the correct angle
- The strings rattled and rumbled on the frets when the Bass was engaged in producing it's notes
- I need to take the time and measure the passive components in the Bass; luckily there aren't many because of the passive circuit nature
- However I will most likely buy a set of high quality Bass Pickup Elements, because that's the easiest way to eliminate the status of the pickup elements
- I will clean out the potential meter which are there already, but
- I will still replace all three potentiometers with smoother feel, and the condensator for the tone control.
- I shall also buy a higher quality Bass from Yamaha in the process, because Yamaha has always provided me with wonderful PA and Studio audio equipment.
- A gorgeously sounding Sadowski Bass is also on my Radar
- QC at Sadowski is good to great, according to info I read and vids watched
Conclusion
- After this absimal experience I understood why Sweetwater offers a wonderful new build {Bass} guitar setup, which I didn't consider, given the competitive price of this beautiful Bass
- It is not nice to be expected to have the experience of a luthier in order to play a brand new Bass
- Luthier skills are built over decades, you are a specialist in and out of itself
- Bass musicians should not be expected to have those skills just to play a new instrument
I'm disappointed in Ibanez Mexico, but I will reconfigure my Bass so that it plays in a proper fashion
