This is actually a bit upsetting. I've been advocating #GLguitars for the last several years. I thought they were doing well other than not being able to keep up w/ custom shop demand.
Not too long ago they made jazz style, hum cancelling MFD bass pickups. They seemed great. G&L said they'd sell them separately from a signature model later on. Never happened.
Last week I was thinking of putting in a custom order for another Fallout bass.
Now, I really have to learn how to make all this stuff. I did before anyway (i.e. 7-string ext. range or 10-string multicourse bass w/ active jazz, hum canceling, multicoil pickups).

Playing around w/ my #NativeAudio #effectsPedals #pedalboard.
I am disappointed in the #EarthQuakerDevices tentacle octave pedal. It doesn't really do anything. On low notes it adds a meh-sounding distortion. I can't tell if it's even adding an octave on the highest notes or just making them sound a little brighter.
No wonder the guy was selling it. After the fact, I went to EQD's website & they say in the FAQ it's not really for #bass & might make bad noises. On guitar, to use above 12th fret.
🫥I've relegated it for use exclusively after delay+reverb. It looks cool.
Anyways, this Frydead Fuzz sounds good.
I need to reorder the rest… 😅

I'm debating turning my #GLguitars Fallout #shortscale #bassguitar into a #PiccoloBass. Tuned as:
B1 - .024
E2 - .036
A2 - .046
D3 - .060
G3 - .080The tension would likely be closer to that of a longscale but, it'd still be one octave up with thinner strings. With #DRstrings, Neons, the bottom two would be roundcore bass while the rest hexcore guitar strings.
With a #Kahler *vibrato* bridge / whammy bar, it'd certainly be a unique, odd in-between instrument.

So... I just drilled a hole in my probably $2,000+ USA made #GLguitars modern jazz #bass. (I lucked out and got it on clearance for $700-ish.) Now, I've got another top string that's paired with the other.
It's in C# standard so, the new one is A(2..or 3?).
I filed the nut and saddle. I definitely can't tune that top string much higher. That turner is tough to turn. Lol.
Sounds great! Now I can automatically play chords or carefully play one or the other. Lol.
Will replace the nut eventually.
