Ah, the Buckminster Fuller Institute, where dense jargon meets esoteric bureaucracy 🤦♂️. It's a playground of 'Big Ideas' that are neither big nor ideas, but hey, at least they have a 'Design Lab'—because where else would you design your own irrelevance? 🙄🔍

If you are around at #utwente on Wednesday, feel free to join my Toastie Talk at #DesignLab at 12:30 :) Let’s discuss how values emerge in #TTRPGs .

The Veil Ascetics don't decide your fate. They reflect it back at you.
Recovery or dissolution, that outcome was already inside the climber. The Ascetic just makes it impossible to look away from.
Designing a creature that holds up a mirror is harder than designing one that holds a weapon.

The Tsukikago Servitor introduces a unique challenge for tactical positioning. Unlike most terrestrial threats, their 'Gravitic Poise' allows them to ignore difficult terrain entirely. In a flooded atrium or a collapsed conservatory, they maintain perfect height.
Design Question: How do you balance an encounter when the enemy has 360-degree vertical mobility, but the players are knee-deep in muck?
The Calamivox Ingratus boasts a "High" Presence rating, but not in the traditional sense of majesty. In my design, "Presence" represents an "inescapable environment." Even when silent, the unit’s oversized eyes and emotional mirroring create a constant psychological drain. Mechanically, this forces a check against emotional interference just for being in proximity.
Question for you: How do you handle "passive" pressure in your games without removing player agency?

On my way to the Richard Sliuzas’ farewell symposium: #UrbanPlanning for #DisasterRiskReduction. The symposium also marks 55 years of #UrbanStudies at #ITC. I will have to leave a bit earlier to join the next meeting of the #DesignLab research fellows.
For the past few months I've been creating a new world based on writing started in 2005.
The past six months have been deeply generative, building on almost 20 years of work.
I'm now 25K images in and have started testing the first products and releases from the #Realitycraft #designlab -- so it's a good time to start curating and sharing those collections.
There's a small FB group for this work on #Realitycraft before releasing OS game or tooling.
Generative inquiries welcome.
