I love that keyboard and wanted something similar for myself 🥺

My first computers were the VIC-20 and Commdore 64. When I found the SA Retro keycaps at Signature Plastics ⌨️ there was no avoiding the obvious outcome 🤓

So, I've modified an ISO variant 🇪🇺 of the Evoworks Evo80 keyboard 🪛

strayer has been working on an update for the Taira split keyboard, and if the final test stage is successful, I‘m confident the release is imminent!

Bigger batteries, a nice!view for low power consumption visual feedback - and some 3d printables are in the making, too.

Can’t wait to get this soldered and running!

I have been working on this modular case for the Taira split keyboard for quite a while now; it features an additional compartment for an Apple Magic TrackPad (but can be build without that, too).

For final touches, I did
some experiments with Voronoi patterns on the shell.

There are some quirks I want to get rid of, specifically the lit protruding the body.

To all you macOS users with a laptop in clamshell mode or a Mac mini, I highly recommend building one of these standalone Touch ID sensors. Saves me tons of keystrokes mashing in passwords, as I use a custom keyboard without Touch ID. I harvested the sensor from an Apple keyboard on eBay with sticky keys from a tragic cola incident.

I was warned that #CustomKeyboards could be addictive and sure enough I impulse bought some new keycaps.

Yes, I was inspired by the TVA aesthetic after bingeing Loki - and in fact this design ("Carbon") was even used for at least one keyboard in the show.

I also didn't set out to get Cyrillic dual caps (they were sold out of the regular ones), but I think it really adds something extra to the #RetroFuture vibe I was aiming for.

After watching many videos and reading a few articles, I liked the look and sound of the Epomaker x Aula F75 (80 key). I was ready to buy it, but then I realised it was an ANSI US layout and I cannot be dealing with an @ symbol over the number 2 key.

I know I could replace the key caps and use software to create a custom layout in Windows and Linux, but I’m struggling to find sets that include UK key caps for an ANSI layout.

I’ve spent most of my evening looking into mice and keyboards I may want.

At the moment, I’m kinda set on the Logitech G502X for a mouse. Low latency, decent weight, lots of programmable buttons, infinity scroll etc. Tick. ✅

Fantasque Sans Mono appeared to be quite nice replacement for PT Mono in my keyboard cheat sheets. Bonus picture: freshly added mouse control layer, where fonts don't matter that much.

#qmk firmware: if you use a feature "temporarily switch to another layer with MO/LM but also have a key within that layout to make it persistent" and found that OLED screens don't show correctly updated persistent layers: the check of current highest layer should be done in a way:

get_highest_layer(layer_state | default_layer_state)

(not very obvious and not mentioned in documentation; probably should submit a PR somewhere, as found the solution in Reddit comments)

Specific case: I have mouse control on a separate layer and sometimes don't want to hold MO key all the time when swiping around, so in that layer I have DF key to make it persistent and another DF to return to the main layer when I'm done.
