And it works! 18keys are a nice, but awkward feeling. So is learning ZMK. Debating if I should try to port it to qmk/vial instead

it’s a hybrid wired + wireless (BT 4.0), TKL 60% layout with low-profile Cherry MX switches (red, brown, blue), RGB backlighting, multi-device pairing & switching, & softkey switching between Mac & Win/Lin key layouts (the keys have legends for Mac & Win). it’s doesn’t have hot-swappable switches though but otherwise I think it would tick all your boxes
I bought this one with reds because this one was intended for a crowded open-plan office (😩) & I didn’t want to be stabbed in the neck with a fork… 😜
it’s also a great travel keyboard (it’s just 450g) should you have that need
I had no end of trouble with pairing the first one they shipped, but replacement worked well without any shenanigans
unfortunately (🤔) Cooler Master seem to have ditched their mech keyboard business, but you can find them on ebay new (🤞) for about the same as what mine cost in Dec 2022 (AUD$179 + $25 shipping & insurance)
their RGB keyboards are on-device configurable so you don’t need to use their (completely terrible) software to configure & switch between multiple layouts unless you want to do something extra-fancy or save your profiles for transfer to another keyboard (IIRC this model supports 4 saved profiles like the rest of their keebs but it’s been a while since I’ve used it in anger)
it seems like the white version was less popular than the “space grey” version, as there are many more of those on ebay – but if that’s your jam then you’re in luck

Not sure what is different this year, but the #gopherConEU orders for gopherbadges is nowhere like previous years (2 this year, ~20 last year). Maybe because I don't use twitter anymore*? Or the market is saturated with #gopherBadges already? They were a success at last @fosdem along with the #keebs and nametags .

I went swapping some keycaps around and I think I'm gonna main my neo65 for a bit now. I know it's a bit of a hodgepodge of caps but I'm really digging the color scheme here. Very warm, slightly retro feeling, and elegant (at least to me).

I went swapping some keycaps around and I think I'm gonna main my neo65 for a bit now. I know it's a bit of a hodgepodge of caps but I'm really digging the color scheme here. Very warm, slightly retro feeling, and elegant (at least to me).

Looking for someone who built a wireless Totem. It seems to fit all my needs, however I’m struggling to find the Seeed Studio NRF52840 in stock anywhere decent (i.e. not 30€). I’m thinking about grabbing 3 of those micros and then having one as a dongle plugged in over USB and the other two connected to the dongle over NRF. Have you tried it? Is it worth it? Why is it not a more popular choice if it gives 3 months of battery life. Is there an alternative micro? #keebs

I got some new keebs and also played around of “musical keycaps” with the boards that I have put together. Here is the family pic sans my board at work.
I moved my set from my southpaw (gray set) to my work board (split), my work board (midnight set) to my kiddos board (tkl), and my kiddos board (transparent) to my southpaw.
I added kitty themed accents to my preonic and finished the banana theme on the wife’s board.
Oh, and I added a keeb key to the southpaw.

Test plate en conditions réelles : la disposition est ultra confortable. Il y a juste un petit bug : les "modifiers" sur le côté sont en 1.5u au lieu de 1.25u. C'était donc une bonne idée de tester.

The panda-switch lumberjack got a wooden case today.
I like how that transforms the style of the keyboard from the DIY-look of the 3d printed case, to a more serious build. -
Finished changing the switches on my #ergoDoxEZ and I am now rocking the clicky's. Should prevent some characters being entered by an errant finger, and sounds cool to boot.
Also changed my layout to #colemakDH as that's what I'm learning. I'm still on the first 5 keys, but having the layout there should help sink it in.
