So the chipmunk... Is still chirping. Now, there were two chipmunks around and they would chase each other around the yard. I am thinking a fox/stray cat/owl/hawk got it's mate/friend and it is distressed over the disappearance. I hope he/she settles soon. It's really time to be stocking up on acorns. I feel bad for the little thing. But it is still annoying the shit out of me.

There is a very pissed off chipmunk in my backyard. He or she has been there all morning chirping constantly. For the last three hours all I have heard is this chipmunk going off. I don't know what set it off, but JFC! Stop it already!

I've decided to call the my new chipmunk friend Chipster. He's been so brave and so hungry. I'm not sure what happened to Chip, but I'm happy to have Chipster coming around every morning...

It looks like I have a new chipmunk friend!
This little one is too small to be Chippy (the adult I saw regularly in the spring) and is too chonk and too fluffy-tailed to be Chip (the adolescent I still see regularly) but they were very brave and friendly and hungry this morning.
They also seem to like Deicide, which is just a regular chipmunk thing...

Chip started out the morning a little reluctant and timid, but he warmed up and was back to his usual self. This was the final peanut he took.

There was a cat in the driveway this morning when I got up. He was a pretty orange cat with a stub tail. This was the first time I've seen him, and I chased him away to let him know this wasn't a place he was welcome.
The squirrels and chipmunks came back gradually, but Chip was much more subdued than usual. I had to take his peanut to him.

The grey squirrels are too timid to take peanuts from me... but they are more comfortable taking peanuts from Chip. Thankfully he's more than brave enough to come back for more.

The adult chipmunks make it look easy, but this is the first time I've seen Chip fit a full-size peanut into a cheek.

Chip came back over a dozen times, seemingly without fear or worry. I stopped getting video each time because I had mulch to put down, but each time gave me real joy.
