Hommage à SOS Méditerranée, avec cette fresque de près de 12 mètres, qui domine la Corniche, de haut par l’artiste marseillais Mahn Kloix. Depuis 2016, l’ONG a secouru près de 41 000 personnes en mer, notamment grâce à son navire, l’Ocean Viking. La fresque, terminée jeudi 31 octobre par l’artiste et les cordistes qui l’ont accompagné, a vocation à rester en place. Photo de Gilles Bader.

« Nous avons beaucoup réfléchi avec l’association. À la base, je voulais peindre des gens dans l’eau, mais on a décidé de partir sur une représentation qui met en avant le travail principal des équipes qui, comme cette femme, observent la mer toute la journée pour tenter de sauver des vies. C’est aussi un dessin très poétique, tourné vers le large, qui peut faire rêver et n’évoque pas seulement SOS Méditerranée » (entretien avec « La Provence »).

This rad #bats & killer #crab art mural was very hard to photograph! It was behind a big fence. I had to slip phone - one hand into fence & try to frame it without a lot of room to do that well. I tried my best! It was quite difficult, especially when rain started to come down heavily.
