Something seems to have gone seriously wrong with the latest versions of Sonoma/MacOS Safari. I was trying to debug my internet connection until I realised I only had connection and speed issues on Safari on my Macbook. And now I'm starting to see more widespread complaints about the same issue from other users online. Back to Firefox I guess.

Anyone else notice that large Google Sheets have become unbearably slow in Safari these days? I have a feeling Google is intentionally hamstringing non-Chrome browsers.

Od kilku miesięcy używam #1Password do zarządzania hasłami.

Postanowiłem jednak wrócić do #iCloudKeyChain bo i tak nie używam żadnych funkcji dodatkowych.

Due to an issue with Tumblr I ended up needing to use #applesafari and it's been alright. Made an attempt at using Tab Groups and it's been a useful way to keep the sites I visit a lot just a click away, like all these regional newspapers.

As I posted previously, starting early Nov 24th, I started seeing a blur on all my uploaded pictures. See image. Research and testing all the settings shows it happens only on #iOS, #iPadOS, and #MacOS, and only on #AppleSafari. iPhone and iPad only use #webkit, even embedding it in apps like #Metatext. Safari on MacOS is also Apple's webkit. Here's the kicker: FireFox on MacOS renders my images properly (not Apple's version of Webkit). If you are not using #Safari, you won't see the blur shown in the image.

Blurring appears to be a bug, and since my Apple devices didn't update, I suspect it is the #mastodon infrastructure. Possibly an update went into the channel, not tested by sysops and admins?

Do any other Mac, iPhone, or iPad users see this? UPDATE: Added MacOS Safari vs Firefox render on a MacBook Pro 16" M1 so non-Apple users can see bug in action.
