Head and Feet Blues (SONG)

One of my favorites when Jeremiahs Run was still performing live.

This is a story about a man who split himself in two.
One part stayed the same the other just grew and grew.
One part stayed in one place, the other up and joined the ratrace.
He had his head in one place and his feet in another.

Head in one place feet in another. You got your head in one place, your feet in another. Your heart’s disconnected one way or the other. Head in one place feet in another.

The part that never changed was always true,
it was always old and the growing part was always new.
While one part was dying from entropy the other part was dying from too much speed,
Head in one place feet in another.

Head in one place feet in another. You got your head in one place, your feet in another. Your heart’s disconnected one way or the other. Head in one place feet in another.

I heard a story about a man who split himself in two.
One part stayed the same, the other just grew and grew.
I got to wondering when the story was through which part was me and which part was you.
Head in one place feet in another

Head in one place feet in another. You got your head in one place, your feet in another. Your heart’s disconnected one way or the other. Head in one place feet in another.

spring is the contemplative awakening.
summer is the fire of spirit.

Odetta – Odetta and The Blues

Gonna tell you one thing: when I die, somebody's getting a really, really good blues collection. And here's one of the most excellent new additions.

The Nomads – She Pays The Rent
New to my collection, just added in May (2025) – a gift from a friend who is downsizing his collection and gave me the pick of several things he was ready to part with. How could I not take a record with this awesome cover, even if I'd never heard it? More at the blog:

The Mystic Moods Orchestra – Highway One

I genuinely debated whether I was even going to post this one. First, I forgot how it ended up in my collection, and relatively recently. Looking at my Discogs, I found that it was a gift from Forever Changes, no doubt something I pulled from the dollar bin, possibly for my artist wife's use in a project on the patriarchy. More:
