#3dprinted this as a gift for my son’s friend. That was a lot of fun. But I hope that this is my last #MMU print because some rewinder issues are very nasty. Got the model is here: https://www.printables.com/model/448926-ultra-swole-squirtle

Today's odd job is changing some outdoor lights, where the plastic has gone brittle and cracked. Nine years of sunlight (wear suncream kids!).
What's really frustrating is you can't just buy the plastic dome part, Philips doesn't sell it separately. All the other parts (the lamp, housing and grey aluminium cover) are all fine. So we've had to buy a couple of complete lamps just for that part. https://www.lighting.philips.de/consumer/p/ultraeffizient-capricorn-wandleuchten-4-3-w/8721103110015 but it has mains voltage outside, so I want them to remain waterproof.
So my #AskFedi question is - is the white part something that could be #3Dprinted ? It's about 25cm in diameter and domed, relatively thin (2-3mm thickness) but obviously would have to be made out of some filament that is semi transparent and very UV stable. Does anyone have any ideas please?

That took quite a lot of battling but I got the new #FujiNet proto board to come up on CoCo! I jumpered the pins for now to make it so all the GPIOs are in the lower 32bit window to make it easier to start from the PicoROM code.

There's now a CoCo version of the case. I added some extra standoffs so the case can be used as a jig while soldering the two boards together. #3DPrinted #KiCad #Fusion360 #MSX #RaspberryPiPico #TRS80CoCo #FujiNet #RetroComputing #VintageComputing #Electronics

A couple more glamour shots of my #3dprinted #cyberdeck . A few features I haven’t talked about:
1) The keyboard can be used with the deck or hooked up to a PC and used as a normal keyboard.
2) the left usb-c port is wired to GPIO and can be used for modules via I2C or UART (it also has magnets for attaching larger modules more securely
3) the screw holes go all the way through the case for more permanent addition of hardware (for example handles, battery expansion etc)

I'm now "I #3dprinted a weekly pill organizer" years old.
It's surprisingly functional.

Todays' #3dprinted part: an exhaust elbow for a side channel blower. The rubber gasket was cut with a Siser cutting machine.
It could get a bit toasty, but the material should be able to handle that. The part does not pose a safety risk if it fails, anyway.

Q1: Say hi, and tell us what you’ve been doing this week. #MakersHour
Hiiiiiiiiiii....is that the time. Just finished dinner. Dinner always seems to clash with this hour here!
This week I actually DID A "MAKE"...

I turned a line art logo into a cookie cutter design in #FreeCAD, #3DPrinted it, and made cookies... all in the space of about 5 hours.

I #3dprinted a new case for an old #atari7800 i bought on ebay with a boken case for cheap. I thought it came out super nice with the two color filament using my #bambulabs #3dprinter. I used this #atariage link as a model.

@freecad my #freecadfriday is a bit of a cheat, I ran a #FreeCAD workshop last night and had 2 new people rock up with Win11 machines and fresh first time ever installs of FreeCAD 1.1. We all modelled a coffee scoop together and they had a great experience with no real issues. Awesome! And we #3Dprinted our scoops as well!

Good news: Even though my new #ErgoMechKeyboard design uses 16mm vertical spacing, both my Choc v1 Chicago Stenographer #keycaps and my (preferred) Choc v1 KLP Lamé saddle (#3DPrinted at JLCPLC in resin) work just fine. I was worried I'd not be able to use this new #MechanicalKeyboard without ordering some even more niche minimal-y spaced keycaps. l'll get some matching 1.5u wide caps done at some point...
Bad news: Broke the stem of yet another doing the swap - these things are fragile! Push from below, don't pull!

Random lunch distraction in the #doghouse assembled a #dummy13 model I #3Dprinted. They're already making themselves handy passing tools etc. :)

I designed up some #Crochet stitch markers a bit over a year ago, maybe 2, and #3dPrinted up what appears to be a couple generations worth of them for my sister-in-law to test, and she's very happy with them.
A request yesterday set for another SiL who has vision problems, so needs "Bright Colors." First set was in Wood Filled PLA, however that disappeared (eventually they will turn up.)
Now printing up a set of Orange, and heading over to Microcenter later today to pick up Yellow PLA.\

@3Dprint no need to be scared because you cannot #manufacture products without materials in this case pharmaceuticals but their should be a #bigpharma uniform I will give you a example let’s say someone takes Ritalin for ADHD if the hospital is not sure the infill it’s #3DPrinted could cause major problems
