Kristina Moore's music is, in a word, unconventional. The songs on her latest rarely follow traditional structure, with little verse/chorus convention. Odd time signatures abound (to my untrained ears at least) and the guitars and keys are countered with clarinet and omnichord and off-kilter vocal harmonies. At times it's as much contemporary classical as it is pop or indie rock. And yet the album is, to a track, catchy and fun, as groovy as it is cerebral. An under-the-radar gem from Brooklyn. Enjoy!
