CW: The "Queen of Bithynia"
A number of sources allude to gossip around Caesar and homoeroticism:

"Les scientifiques se sont intéressés à la composition chimique de deux dessins noirs, représentant un bison et un masque, en ayant recours à la microspectrométrie Raman et à l’imagerie hyperspectrale2 . Ces méthodes non-invasives ont permis de révéler des traces de charbon de bois dans les pigments noirs."

Besides Mapstodon.Space, I've set up an instance of wanderer, a decentralized, self-hosted trail database software (think Strava/Komoot alternative on the Fediverse!).
Due to a slow but steady growth, it was struggling recently with a low-spec infra (a Raspberry Pi). I've migrated the instance on a machine with much better specs and it runs way more smoothly now.
Come give it a go at https://trails.mapper.space!

CW: Mental Health
It's supposed to be a distributed system for providing telehealth therapy. But because providers are a combination of automated and just self-reported with no real accountability structure or patient connection, ends up being a predatory system that takes people in the middle of a mental health crisis and puts them with people who have little credentials or experience, primarily united in their inability to maintain an actual practice of their own.
In its conception, it was supposed to be like the Psychology Today database but with a built-in Telehealth function that immediately routes the user (not patient, user) to whichever therapist is currently available. Instead, having given little thought to the incentive structures and emergent outcomes, it's a ghoulish and dystopian twisting of mental health that puts those most in need and closest to a crisis with those least qualified, least invested, and least accountable.

Do you still call responding to a poll "voting" even if it is not an opinion poll? What if it is just a statistical recording of factual data?

Service announcement:
Mapstodon.Space database will be under maintenance Thursday May 22st at 11 am UTC (=1 pm UTC+2/Paris, 7 am EDT/New York, 4 am PDT/San Francisco, 9 pm AEST/Sydney).
There will be a 2 hours downtime to migrate the database to a new server that should increase performance.
Sorry for the inconvenience, and best of luck to @mastohost for the operation :)

CW: Indiana politics, candidate support
Just an FYI in case folks might be interested: I wanted to put the word out that Dr. Cinde Wirth is a wonderful person and wonderful candidate for US Rep for Indiana.
Having spoken with her, she's a data person who centers community, who seems to actually care about everyone. She's been vocal about supporting trans rights and immigrants plus abolishing ICE - all with policy experience.

Deeply disappointed and angry at arts evaluators who are seemingly okay, using surveillance tech, like Placer.AI, because they see it as a shortcut to more direct and relational data collection.
Yes, let's give money to these assholes who buy and sell your data by scraping location and financial data up indiscriminately from anyone with any sort of device.
But I guess I'm the stupid one, because I'm the one that's unemployed.
