  1. I think the final 2hp will be consumed by an audio in/out headphone out module, which should make this usable standalone too.

Oh, the PO-32 will be fitted to a proper Eurorack carrier board when it comes back in stock. #EuroRack #ModularSynth

  6. The Behringer Four Play (Intellijel Quad VCA rip off) is what my PCB front panel is for. Think it’ll look decent! By the way, this is my little Eurorack skiff that complements the Music Thing Modular Workshop System that I built at EMF this year. #EuroRack #ModularSynth

  11. Serge / Random Source modules. Not too affordable. Not too available.

Basically sitting on the money for a GTO for the past two months.

  16. Very excited to try out the "Dual Pitchshifter" - a new #eurorack module that I aquired at #pifcamp !

It is build by Australian Tactile Instruments (auti.sm/) and I feel very lucky to get my hands on one of these units thanks to @slash <3

  17. have been struggling for #eurorack inspiration recently. everything i patch sounds dull and samey. every time i touch a sequencer i end up with a boring static loop no matter how much variation i try to add. any voice i come up with is about as interesting as the default Ableton Analog preset. oh good you've got a Clouds on the end of the chain, so original.

i keep toying with the idea of selling everything and giving up. which would be sad. and i've *sunk* all this *cost*.

    somebody please say something inspiring.

  19. Next full improvisation livestream, figuring out my own #miditracker again.

    Edit:
    Added link to recording.
    E
That was nice, some heavy drone reverbs and a few longish segments, but I'll come back to this type of patch.

  21. Regarding that undervoltage thing, to keep the power solid and inside the case I came up with this idea...

I trust the 5V Regulator and have up to 4000mA available on the 5V rail of the case as none of my #eurorack Modules uses that source.

  23. When in stress - rearrange your #eurorack

Two strong contenders: happy to hear any thoughts, suggestions or questions, that keep me busy in the quiet before next work week.

    Left:
Raspberry pi integration in the case with 12hp of modules stored away in the 1U section. Full #miditracker support

    Right:
Full Eurorack configuration, similar to what I had before with small updates, neat central silver panels and the full 3U row free for new things.

  25. One thing that #electronics #DIY folks might be interested in, even outside of the synth world, is the alternative 1.3" OLED board I designed for this project, to [not drop-in, sorry] replace those really common OLED display boards you see everywhere. (e.g. https://www.adafruit.com/product/938 )

The problem with pretty much all of those is that they have a charge pump incorporated, to go from 3.3/5V up to the higher voltage (9V+) required by the display. And those charge pumps are *noisy* -- it's really hard to keep their noise under control if they're being used anywhere near audio circuitry.

So in the "submodules" directory there are schematics & gerbers for a board in a similar form-factor, which takes in 12V on one pin, and bypasses that charge pump. If you're doing anything in synth world, including #eurorack, you have plenty of 12V available.

    https://github.com/508-loop-detected/the-basics/tree/main/submodules

For ~reasons~ which I cannot currently recall, it's also SPI-only. I bet I had a really good reason.

For both those reasons, as I mentioned, it's not a drop-in replacement for those commodity boards. But if you're having noise issues with those boards, IMHO it's worth a minor redesign.

It's designed to work with this display: https://www.buydisplay.com/white-1-3-inch-oled-i2c-arduino-ssd1306-display-module-connector-fpc

  28. Holiday setup - Multigrain is incredibly deep, I am exploring it as a live percussion mangler in this setup, today I finally started having some fun with it, as opposed to just being confused 🙃
