  1. I think I've confused my poor #PicoW running #CircuitPython. It thinks I've pressed a reset button the board doesn't have 😆 (I shorted another USB port on the HUB).

You are in safe mode because:
You pressed the reset button during boot.
Press reset to exit safe mode.

  2. The SpaceMouse Wireless

This is a tale of ancient wizardry, yearning for control, failed prototypes, and just plain bad timing. Let us begin.(...)

  3. Notes for April 29-May 5

Following up on my display hackery, I upgraded my SK1’s firmware to the latest iteration, which didn’t really fix its display (it now displays thumbnails, but all the responsiveness bugs I mentioned i(...)

  4. Woohoo I am a KiCad master now! Or at least I know enough to default to it instead of Eagle. Finally. Plus I found a neat capacitive touch sensor chip that I got working in CircuitPython and Arduino on a Pico

  5. Golden State’s been hacking! This week’s stickers all go out to California. Post pics/vids of your #SwiftUI or #CircuitPython builds from lessons at YouTube.com/profgallaugher using the hashtag #BuiltWithProfG and you might be selected in the weekly sticker drawing. Keep learning big!

  6. First things first... the guts! The brains of the operation is an #UnexpectedMaker ESP32-S2 Feather Board running #CircuitPython and soldered to some perfboard. Around the outside is an @adafruit Neopixel ring and in the middle is a beefy 7-segment display. Using the Stemma connector I also have AHT20 and SGP40 sensors connected. The sensors are currently "stuck" to the front of the enclosure for air flow reasons.

  7. Teaching electronics in #STEM #STEAM programs? My entire Physical Computing flipped course content is available free on YouTube with slides/exercises/solutions/parts lists on my site. You are welcome to use it and if you do, LMK and I’ll share some stickers. Happy #CircuitPythonDay bit.ly/circuitpython-tutorials

  8. Just finished my 1st day at #teardown2023. I ran a workshop to make and code LED lanyards with #circuitpython, and set up an installation (shown in the video) of a few blinky/glowy projects. Now I get to relax and enjoy all the other workshops and talks this weekend!

  9. Chris was a student in both classes. For #BCPhysComp he built a gesture-sensing candy dispenser. Eat up! #CircuitPython #BuiltWithProfG

  10. Here is #BCPhysComp student Hunter showing the inside of his @Raspberry_Pi Pico-powered coffee maker. Checks temp, weighs & grinds beans, pumps water. It was some good brew & a great project. All in #CircuitPython, too. 1/2 since Mastodon doesn't do video well. #BuiltWithProfG.

  11. A little email told me something fun.

These should be black PCB Fig Pi boards...and maybe some more blue ones.

  17. My #3dprinted take on the Canairi air quality sensor features an SGP40 gas sensor and an AHT20 temperature and humidity sensor. Powered by #CircuitPython it reacts to the air by “dying” when air quality gets low but also logs it’s readings to #HomeAssistant over #mqtt (and the whole thing runs off an #UnexpectedMaker ESP32-S2). Can be wall-mounted or placed on its stand. Designed and modelled in #tinkercad

  18. A useful #PiDay project is this #RaspberryPiPico W & #CircuitPython powered prescription reminder. Demonstrates how <$20 in parts can help address a multi-hundred-billion dollar life & death issue. One of 24 (& growing) Pico university lessons for newbies. Follow the Pico lessons in our course here bit.ly/pico-tutorials and for many more beginning #CircuitPython start here bit.ly/circuitpython-tutorials #STEMeducators you are most welcome to use these in your own classes. #STEM #STEMeducation

  19. Trying to do battery powered stuff on a TinyS3 with #CircuitPython. This means using the low power #RISCV #ULP to count pulses. Thing is, how do I figure out where the ULP stores that in memory? If it were C, I would have a pointer. I wonder how I can get the compiler to spill the beans?

The more I think about what the best next step for could be, the more I believe implementing some decentralised protocol to exchange info would be super useful: what is more decentralised than a bunch of personal servers people can physically bring around with them? 🙂

For this reason, I find any effort into implementing parts of on small devices super interesting!

What are your thoughts about it?

  21. Here’s a weird side-ish project of mine. A STM32G0 as a coprocessor for #CircuitPython over #StemmaQT. I hope to get this polished up when CP 8 is in release candidate.
