  1. Mozilla has an article on "Creative Purpose at the Dawn of AI"

Surely it's the same as it's always been? If you have a creative purpose then you're creative.

If you generate GenAI slop and call it "art" then you have zero creative purpose and can fuck right off with any claims of being an "artist" and admit that you're a commissioner or director AT BEST.

But this is a Mozilla article, of course. So it's all "AI is fine if you just pretend that you're using it differently!" 🙄

  8. Lilbits: ChromeOS isn’t dead (yet), Amazon blocks installation of Fire TV apps used for piracy

The lines between Android and ChromeOS have gotten blurry over the years. While ChromeOS was originally positioned as a laptop and desktop operating system that was distinct from the company’s Android software for touchscreen devices, Google eventually added support for running Android apps on Chromebooks while also expanding Android to work with smart TVs, smart glasses, and other devices.

  12. What is it? A new "motor" for web browsers to display web content.

Why? Independent of the big boys (Google, Mozilla, Apple), who otherwise get too much influence.

. When? If it's okay this year's first alpha version.

  19. #ProgressiveWebApps (#PWAs) can act as a #shareTarget for other #apps on #Android.

    developer.mozilla.org/en-US/do

So when I added this feature to my app, it seemed fine to call the url `/share`.

And when I saved them to the #database I just went with it and named the table `shares`.

But here's the thing; I have my app installed on my phone too. I use the `share` feature to "post" to my website.

So, now my posts go in the `shares` table.

  26. Hi @debby

    your description is very insightful.
    #multilingual #multilanguage #i18n

    #fediverse #activitypub et al.
Imagine a fediverse software doing it like it was meant to be:
w3.org/TR/activitystreams-core ff. and recent comment by Evan github.com/w3c/activitystreams

Actors define which language they are capable of and maybe how much, just like the developer.mozilla.org/en-US/do

The software can know the incoming languages even if they are not defined:
    github.com/redaktor/languages
incl. 852 languages, also esperanto and those from the people having no internet (am the author).

Then Debby gets the posts in English or Esperanto when available, can keep post seperate and „no more mixing languages and annoying anyone! “
