@SallyKent Perhaps more apropos is that the #UKgov claim folk on ‘ #LegacyBenefits ‘ could not be given any #Covid19-support, unlike able-bodied citizens, because their computer-system couldnæ cope, is arguably untrue: they could have upped the #ChristmasPayment from £10 to an annualised equivalent. Ditto in re making a one-off payment for extra #energy costs, which again fit & healthy folk receive, but long-term #disabled &/or sick do not!

@Sapiophielle My fave #ChristmasFilm is #TheChristmasGift (1986) with inter alia #JohnDenver (only two songs I think and his acting is not great), #JaneKaczmarek & #MaryWickes. It is schmaltzy - no denying - but there is some drama involving a lost child in a blizzard. Also, imo, a few good laughs. And the romance aspect is not over-played like many more recent #ChristmasMovies. High Art it is not; but great for the feels! 🎄🎬

Many folk will never have heard of or have forgotten the life-long actor #CliffRobertson. In 1978 the mini-series #WashingtonBehindClosedDoors (1977) was broadcast in UK, and I developed a man-crush on the character of William Martin! Ha ha ha Some will recall CR’s rôle as #UncleBen in the noughties’ #Spiderman saga.

I have not been hungry for some 25 years: I get no physiological indications to prompt me to eat. I do not, as a rule, recall to nosh. However, sometimes something will nudge me to consider eating. A few minutes ago I thought that it would be good to consume a piece of fruit. Unfortunately, I have no snack-bowl in my bed-cell. I finely chopped six large shallots & fried in butter until golden-brown.
Then added a pack of fish-pie mix (salmon, smoked-haddock, cod).
A couple of mins. later I added half-a-bag of pea-shoots that I had cut up. Straight after, the contents of a tin of chickpea dhal.
I topped up with a little water to give the curry an appropriate consistency.
Ten minutes later dinner was served. It was so delish, I forgot to take a photo, hence the image of a mostly-eaten dish! 🍛
