  1. I tested a cheap #UHMWPE NJI III plate I bought from #temu. It did well against pistol calibers and ok against 5.56 M193. But then I used green tip 5.56 and it got penetrated. And then I used some AP explosive incendiary 9mm on it and, well…

Civvies and lightly armed soldiers use pistols. ARs typically have green tip at a minimum.

Definitely worth more than the $35 I paid for it.

  2. We tested Make.com vs Zapier using real workflows, not demos.

    What stood out:
    • Make handles complex logic far better
    • Costs scale more efficiently for high-volume automations
    • Zapier is still easier for beginners

The difference becomes very obvious once you go beyond simple tasks.

  5. Just tested on most recent raspbian (debian on raspberry pi) linux and Copy Fail for sure fucks up 'su' pages in memory, but the command simply becomes unexecutable. It does not drop me to a root login because it cannot execute the 'su' command. Indeed the '/bin/su' file itself remains untouched.

Reboot and it gets cleared out of memory. But I think "every kernel since 2017" might not be exactly right. Definitely make sure you test this.

  10. I tested a setup that moves IBM Bob off the laptop and into a remote Linux workspace over SSH.

The interesting part was not the happy path. It was all the little things around it: SSH keys, host aliases, locked accounts, amd64 vs arm64, and how Bob actually starts its remote server.

I wrote it up step by step:

  11. I tested Cyberpunk 2077 on PS5 with a 32:9 ultrawide monitor to see if it really works. The short answer is yes, but the honest answer is that it does not look good enough to recommend if image quality matters to you. #PS5 #Cyberpunk2077 #Ultrawide #SuperUltrawide #GamingMonitor

  12. I tested the different ways of programming an #ESP32 and I enjoy using #CircuitPython the most as the roundtrip time for code changes is basically hitting save in VS Code vs 30+ seconds on Arduino IDE or ESP-IDE.

    Some learnings:

Not all board layouts are fully supported. Sadly the ones I bought are one of those meaning the camera doesn't work - the rest does.

And always buy ones with an IPEX antenna port!

Will order a couple supported ones and repurpose the others.
