Today was the annual inspection of the #Church #rectory… aka my place of residence.
I’m fortunate to have kind, considerate Trustees who care for me & are respectful - of my privacy & of their duty to offer suitable housing for their #priest. But it’s a weird and uncomfortable thing to have the house I live in inspected by people with whose care I am charged: to tread a fine line between gratitude; expressing needs / preferences for myself; and saying what I think is best for the charge. 1/2 -

Mastodon, or perhaps just my instance (mstdn.social) is feeling the burn I think. For me the issue is searches for accts on other instances, which seem often to be timing out. I’m loving seeing this community grow tho, and hoping we can be part of continuing to show #AnotherWorldIsPossible as people flee the Birdsite.

‘T has been a long day. Gentle pastoral work in our drop in cafe this morning with ages 3 to 83; discernment meeting with a candidate for ordination to the priesthood this afternoon; and AGM for the town’s #ecumenical #YouthWork project this evening. Lots of good things, lots of variety. Now needing lots of sleep. 🙏🏻😇💤

This is the Church where I work in #EastLothian. The banners are by #StitchesForSurvival. Thousands of people from across the 🌎 made #climatechange banners & took them to #COP26. The ones in the pics were made since then & displayed in public to catalyse climate conversations. As #cop27egypt begins, we need #prayer & #action on the climate crisis more than ever. I’ve joined #ChristianClimateAction. I’ll be marching with them in Edinburgh next Saturday. Get in touch if you’d like to join in.
