We willen het allemaal: een leefbare aarde, een veilig thuis en een betaalbare energierekening.
Maar zolang we afhankelijk blijven van olie, gas en kolen, blijven we overgeleverd aan schommelende energieprijzen en internationale spanningen. Ondertussen worden de gevolgen van de klimaatcrisis steeds zichtbaarder.
Terwijl grote vervuilers recordwinsten behalen, betalen huishoudens de rekening.
Dat kan anders. Met schone energie kiezen we voor meer zekerheid, lagere energiekosten en een leefbare toekomst.

Op 12 september komen we samen in Amsterdam, vlak voor Prinsjesdag. Nu wordt beslist welke kant Nederland op gaat. Laat ook zien dat het anders kan! En doe mee op jouw manier. Elke actie telt.

Choose our future. Ditch fossil fuels. Just before Budget Day, we are showing that the Netherlands is ready for a different course. As long as we remain dependent on oil, coal, and gas, we remain at the mercy of international conflicts and volatile energy prices. Meanwhile, the consequences of the climate crisis are becoming increasingly palpable.
We choose clean energy. We choose greater control over our energy supply, affordable energy bills, greater security, and a livable future.
Will you join us? We are building a strong movement together. March with us, distribute posters, mobilize your network, or join in with your own continent.

Some impressions from today's Climate March in Glasgow.
Compared to the previous on, four years ago, there were far fewer people. There were roughly 100,000 in 2021, and probably less than 10,000 today. I was also struck by the factions. The march had three headline demands, global solidarity; fair transition; caring for our planet, so it was not purely a climate march. I guess this was a pragmatic decision as the organisers knew the turnout would be even lower.
Nevertheless, I am glad Friends of the Earth Scotland organised it and that I took part.

Today I joined my home town (Brussels) and the 20,000 participants in the Climate March, to sing, to be together, to remind everyone of the urgency of the climate in this time of COP28, the solutions that exist, and that the planet doesn't give a damn about pauses in climate action.

After hours of participating in the #ClimateMarch #klimaatmars, I decided to go back home. I never got to see @gretathunberg speak; I think I arrived at the end of the march route after she was already finished. 😞
I just got home and checked @dutchnewsnl; looks like the current estimate for today's event is 70,000 participants! Although, that number may change as more reports come out, of course. Easily the biggest climate protest in NL ever!
