  2. #Journal of a slightly relaxing Dutch AuDHD Pixy :pixy_party: (Wednesday, 27/05/2026).

Koa had allowed me a bit of a better night, which had been very welcome, after the shorter nights earlier this week. We got up around 0:15, and started our “day”, following the usual routine. At least, the usual for now, until Koa is OK enough with me going to the gym, then we’ll need to adjust the routine a bit. But for now, I get up, let Koa out, get to the scale, dress, prepare Koa’s food, take my meds, and head to the couch with my laptop.

I started by writing an email to a sweet friend of mine. And then I started on working on the journal toot text. When I had that one finished, I uploaded it to Mastodon, my journal app, and my journal blog post. After all that was done, I took Koa out for a short walk. The headlamp got all sorts of attention from way too many bugs, but still, I didn’t want to step in any poop….

After the walk, we tried to relax for a bit. But then, I saw this huge-ass black spider walk towards my couch and get under it. Well, let me be honest and say that I hate spiders! Especially the big black ones that look so disgusting. I was all upset, and I could not see it to catch it… So I took Koa up on the couch, afraid that he would try to eat the big beast. Koa sensed my emotions, and they drove him nuts, and he started to be more bitey again.

I wanted to crate him with his new cheese snack that I got him the previous day, and he had been walking around with it just a little while ago. But, I looked in all the possible places that I could think of, and I just could not find it! I don’t believe he had been able to eat it up so quickly, as he’d been chewing on it for quite a while, without getting too much off it… Still, however good I looked (and being aware of the spider being somewhere as well), I could not find it. So, I crated Koa with his rawhide snack, and I asked mum if she could see about getting a new cheese snack when she goes to Germany on Thursday.

Koa was a bit upset, but after a while, he settled down. I watched a bit of telly, and tried to relax, knowing that the big-ass spider was still around somewhere… We managed to relax for a while, and I had some brekkie. After a little while, we went out for another walkies, as it was getting light out again. After walkies, Koa got his next meal. I tried to work a bit on my blog after that, and then bestie called me on the way to work. We had a nice chat. When she hung up, I wanted to read a bit, as I was getting closer to finishing the book.

Koa and I had another walk. When we got back, I tried to relax in the garden for a while with him. He behaved, up to a point, haha! At one point, he made a silly jump, to land in the puppy pool with all fours at the same time! Unfortunately, I had not filmed that, as I had not been expecting it. But, I took a little silly vid after that. When Koa started to use his teefs on too many things, we went back inside. He was in his crate when I saw the neighbor and the big black fluff. I quickly went outside to give the fluff some cuddles and snacks. Koa wasn't too pleased, as he barked a few times. But, he does need to learn to be on his own at some points, otherwise I can never get to the gym again…

We tried to relax for a while, and I was waiting on a few parcels. Mostly things for Koa, mind you, haha! I got the special treats for the doggy class, and the leash he needed for class as well. And, I got his GPS tracker. Although I didn’t set it up when it arrived, I did charge it and read the manual, so I could start working on it the next day (well, night, haha). Koa and I went out for another walk, and then I prepared everything for bed.

Koa quickly snoozed, but for me, it took about an hour before my body and brain were allowing me to sleep. I did manage to finish my book though… But when Koa woke me up about 90 minutes later, and he did that thing again, where he needed a second time to go out for his poop… Well, ugh, I just wanted to sleep! Haha… How I miss having a partner at times like this, to share the things like potty breaks, haha… When Koa settled down again, he allowed me to sleep for about 3½ hours. And then, he wanted to get up again. So yeah, it was a short night for me, with a little less than 6 hours of sleep, according to my watch. So, we got up, and we started our “day”.

  8. Eid Mubarak, my friend 🌙
Today is the first day of Eid al-Adha, and while many families around the world celebrate with joy, gatherings, and peace… we are still searching for safety and comfort amid the painful reality in Gaza.
There are no real signs of Eid here anymore — only torn tents, fear, and the daily struggle to survive with dignity.
Yet despite everything, your support continues to give us strength and hope. Every donation, every share, and every kind word helps my family meet its basic needs and reminds us that we are not alone.
On this blessed day of Eid, we kindly ask you to keep us in your prayers and continue supporting us in any way you can. Your kindness means more than words can express.
Eid Mubarak to you and your loved ones 🤍

  15. #Journal of a slightly tired and busy Dutch AuDHD Pixy :pixy_party: (Tuesday, 26/05/2026).

As we had gotten home later, we went to bed later as well. When I woke up for as Koa needed a wee, it was around 2am, and I had slept about 4 hours. Not a whole lot, but I figured that Koa would really like some food, as he usually has had his brekkie at this time. So, I got up, and we started our “day”.

Business as usual, the scale, getting dressed, making Koa’s kibble, taking my meds, and getting to the couch with my laptop. Koa had some fun with a rawhide snack, and I started writing an email to a sweet friend. When Koa decided that my shoelaces needed to be pulled and chewed on, he went to the crate. A short protest, and he enjoyed his snack again, while I finished my email, and started on my journal toot.

I finished that as well, and once I had updated my journal app, and my journal blog post, Koa and I went out for a short walk. After that, I worked on my blog some more, and then I tried to relax by watching some telly. My internal clock was a bit off, due to me getting up about 2 hours later than usual, and as I followed my usual routine, it felt like it should be earlier. Ah well…

Koa and I relaxed, and after some brekkie, we went out for another walk together. Bestie called me on her way to work, and we had a nice chat. I made some food, and then Koa and I got ready to head to Nijmegen.

All went well, and I set up everything (Koa’s crate), before mum and I took Skoosh and Koa to Germany. We went to the pet store, where I found a nice new harness for Koa, as his current one was getting a bit too small. A very kind lady had given me a voucher that provided some discount on certain things, as she didn’t need it, and she heard that Koa needed a new harness (for which the discount was valid). We tried on a beautiful harness, and it fit, so we took that. I could not find the leash we needed for training, so I had to order one online. We got some treats for the dogs, and when I had to pay, the voucher gave me a €9 “Rabat” (German discount), so that was a nice thing for sure.

On the way back to my parent’s place, we had a quick pit-stop at the supermarket, so I could get some lemonade that I had forgotten on Sunday. Then, mum and I relaxed a bit, while the boys were enjoying their snacks. When mum was ready, we went out for a short walk, so the boys could get their sniffs in, and all that. We got back, and I got ready to head to Cuijk for my physio appointment.

I arrived a bit early, and I enjoyed my book until it was time for me to go in. We had a good session, and then I headed back. I remembered to go to Nijmegen again, and not drive home directly… I picked up Koa, got all his things, and we headed back home. It was already 31°C, according to Skoosh, so I was glad about the aircon, although Koa still thought it was too warm. Spoiled little one, haha.

The house was dark and cool, around 23°C, so that was nice to get back to. We had some food, and then we relaxed for a while. Koa enjoyed his new snack, and I watched some telly. Around 14:45, we got ready to head to bed, as I was exhausted, after two short nights and busy days. It didn’t take me too long to fall asleep. I woke up because Koa was making some noises after two hours. But when I got from the loo, he was already sleeping again. So, I headed back, and he woke me up again two hours later, and then he really had to go.

When he woke me up again, it was around 0:15, so not too bad. We got up, and started our “day”.
