  1. CW: Nothing bad, just a >5000 characters journal Toot. Saves some folks from scrolling 😇

#Journal of a slightly tired Dutch AuDHD Pixy :pixy_party: (Saturday, 16/05/2026).

Koa and I had a broken night, partially because I didn’t understand Koa’s signals, as they were different than the ones he “usually” sends out. So, after the “miscommunication”, I felt bad and guilty, and I wasn't able to get some good sleep anymore. When we got up, the scale went a bit up again… I fixed Koa’s food, and took my meds. Then, I grabbed the laptop, and I wrote a decent email to a sweet friend. Followed by a nice little Journal toot. Koa wanted out after that. It was still dark outside, so I grabbed the head lamp, and we walked a bit over the grassy field. Glad to have the lamp, as not everyone cleans up their doggies mess, which annoys the heck out of me. I know I can’t always properly clean up Koa’s stinkies, as they can be too soft to properly pick up. But I always try my best to keep it as clean as possible.

We got back, and Koa got to his crate for a while, as he struggled to find his rest, and he kept on wanting to come on the couch, try to nip at me, and then wanted off the couch again. While Koa was in the crate, I worked a bit on my blog for a while. I managed to get some bits written, which felt good. But I also kept struggling with the bad feeling, over not being able to properly “read” Koa’s whining yet. I know it’s only been three weeks, and we still have a lot to learn, but yeah, my silly AuDHD just wants me to do things properly and right, and I will bully myself harshly when I don’t feel like I am doing a good job.

After some time, Koa wanted to go out again. It was lighter out now, so we had a nice little walk. We walked a new route, and Koa even spotted a few ducks. The walk went well, and Koa had many new impressions and sniffs. But it was a chilly walk as well. Can’t wait for the nights to be less cold, which will make them better for heading out with Koa, especially during the sleeping times. It’s always harder to get back to sleep, after you’ve been in the cold for a bit. (especially when there were smelly presents to be cleaned up).

I made my brekkie, as Koa was in the crate now anyway. After that, we relaxed a bit, and we headed out for another walk. We decided on a smaller one, as Koa was still a bit tired from the new walk he’d done earlier. As I was hungry, I made some food after that. I loaded the dishwasher, and let it do its work. We relaxed for a while, and Koa slept on the couch for a bit like a pro. When he woke up again, we had a nice little walk. We met some new people and dogs, and he had some sniffs, and I had some talks.

Then, we waited for DHL to come with my/our parcels. I got the new photo album for Koa, and the new batch of photos. And Koa got his new feeding station. He was impressed by the water bowl, but quickly figured it out. We tried the slow-feeder, but I saw it was still a bit too deep for him to use. I will start by using the small slow-feeder I have, which I used as a water bowl, to feed Koa from that, so he can slowly learn to eat slower. 😇 And to learn to eat around the ridges of the feeder.

I sorted out the pictures, and I tried to make a start with Koa’s photo albums. I almost finished up the first one, but I wanted to start the new album with pictures from May 1st. So the small first album still has a few spaces left, should anything come up that could be added to it. I didn’t finish the album all the way, although I did sort all the pics of Koa and the pics for the AI album. I still need to sort the AI ones better, so they make a bit of sense when I add them to that album, which I am hoping to do on Sunday. Then, I will need to make little lists of all the dates, and texts for the AI ones, so that, hopefully, dad will be able to print them for me, and I can add them to the snaps later on.

I put away all the albums, and I cleaned up the old paper and such, and then I grabbed the “snuffelmat” for Koa. He really loved it, and had a blast. Next time I will use it again, I will try to take another video, to show some of the progress he’s making with how to use the mat. 😊

We relaxed for a while, and then Koa wanted a short walkies. So, we went out, and he did his things. When we got back, I fixed the rest of Koa’s meal. We relaxed some more, and then I started preparing everything for bedtime. The weather was turning gray, and I was rather tired after the bad night, so while it was still dry, we had our last walk. Then, we headed to bed. Koa had a little protest, and then dozed off. I read until I dozed off as well.

When Koa woke me up, I thought I had only slept a short while, but it had been about 5 hours since we’d gone to bed. So, I took Koa out, and he did his things. A little bit of protest again, and he dozed off again. When he woke me up again, it was about 4 hours later. I was still a bit tired, but after cleaning up Koa’s smelly bits (which I would need to hose down in the morning), I was too awake to sleep again. So, Koa and I started our “day” a little earlier. I did get about 7 hours of sleep, according to my watch, and we only had one potty break, so it wasn't too bad to start the “day” with.

Thanks to all for your kindness and support during my "journey through daily life" :bear_love: I really appreciate it 💜 as it helps me to keep going on bad/harder days! :bear_nuzzle:

  21. Guten Morgen! ☕

  25. #Journal of a slightly tired Dutch AuDHD Pixy :pixy_party: (Friday, 15/05/2026).

We didn’t have the best night. Koa was a bit restless, and I didn’t really get why, as I had done all we usually do, and he had been out, and cared for. So, after a bit of a broken night, Koa and I got up around 2am, and we started our day.

I fixed Koa’s food, got to the scale, and it has gone up a bit… I guess I did snack some more, so I need to be careful with that, as I was just so pleased to finally have lost some weight. Then, I grabbed the laptop, and I wrote an email to a sweet friend. Then, I wrote another email to another dear friend, hoping they would see it in time… I wrote my journal toot, and worked on my blog a bit. Then, it was getting light out again, and Koa ans I went for walkies.

I tried to relax for a while, but Koa was a bit too bitey, so I had to crate him for a bit. When mum came, we went to the little doggy area, and we tried to practice the “come here” command. Koa did well a few times, and then he got too distracted and started grabbing stuff from the ground and all that. So, we headed back home. I set up everything for mum, and then I got my things, and left for physio.

It was a good session, and really needed as well. On the way back, I stopped at the supermarket. I ran into Nicole there, who was there on foot. So, when we were both done, she rode home with me. She gave Koa some cuddles, then headed to her place. I chatted a bit with mum, showed her the “snuffelmat” in action. After that, she headed back home again, and Koa and I tried to relax for a bit.

He got his meal, we had a walkies, and slowly I was prepping everything for bedtime. It went well, but after two hours, he woke me up, and needed potty. We went out, I waited for him to finish, and we went back to bed. But, Koa was not pleased, and I could not understand why. After some time, I snapped at him, because I was so tired and getting a major headache, and he calmed down. When I woke up again, I took him outside. And then, he had to have the worst number two! Maybe that had been bothering him??? But, until now, when his tummy was upset, he would let me know with the worst smelly farts, and now, there had been none. So, I misunderstood his whining, and I felt so bad!!! I hosed down the root fabric, and we went inside.

I hugged him a lot, and felt so guilty, that I was crying when he went to bed again. Not a peep then, and he settled down to sleep again, while I cried myself to sleep. I woke up a bit later again, not feeling too well… But, it was a good time to just get up, so I did that, and Koa and I started our “day”.
