#Journal of a tired Dutch AuDHD Pixy :pixy_party: (Thursday, 10/09/2026).
I managed to get a bit of (broken) sleep. And, even though it was the most sleep I had in several days, I spent most of the night still yawning my jaw off. We got up, and started our little routine together. Koa got his food, and went out for his potty business. I took my meds, and got dressed. When Koa and I were ready, we got to the couch.
Koa was chewing enthusiastically on his rawhide chewy, and I saw it getting smaller. After a bit, I was getting worried that it would get too small, and that Koa would try to inhale the whole bit. So, I took away the smaller chewy, which got me some annoyed looks. Until I got to the “doggy cupboard”, and I pulled out a new, big, chewy. Koa got all excited, and I tried to take a little video of his excitement, and then gave the rawhide to the dude. While he was all busy, I opened my laptop, and started to reply an email to my sweet friend.
Because I'd been a bit distracted, I wasn't finished with the email when Koa let me know that he wanted to go out. He'd been gnawing on his chewy, and drank a bit more because of that. So, he was a bit earlier, while I was a bit late. I went for the walk with the dude, and finished my email after that.
After some brekkie, I used my phone to create today's blog post. When it was done and scheduled, I was able to finally get working on Tuesday journal Toot. I hate that I'm running behind, as I feel this puts too much pressure on something that I usually love to do.
When I had finally managed to finish Tuesday's journal, I started the one for Wednesday. I didn't get too far, because Koa wanted to go out for walkies again. When we got back, I had no more spoons available, so I put away the laptop, and hoped that I could write some more on my phone, later that day. Of course, part of me already suspected that I would not be able to do that... Which saddened me a bit. I just wanted to get back on track.
After walkies, I was tired. I watched some TV, and then made some food for Koa, and then for myself. I wanted to relax a bit on my bed with my tablet, as the couch was not feeling comfortable at all. But, as Koa and I had just had some food, I decided in a short walk first.
But when we got back, I saw the time, and knew I could not get some relaxing on bed just yet, as bestie would probably be calling soon, while on her way to work. When she called, I put it on the speaker, which made Koa feel like he had to protect me. 😂 He jumped on the couch, stood over me, and looked at the phone like it was a major threat to me. Silly pupper!
After the call ended, Koa and I had another short walk. And then, we went to the bedroom, where I watched a series and texted a Dr for a bit. I really wanted to rest, but my brain kept being so active, that it was hard to let my body be at ease. When I finally got a bit better... You guessed it! Koa had enough of the relaxing, and he was eager to get a bit of action. So, I got up again, and tried to walk a bit further with him this time.
We got back, I gave Koa a snack, and I tried to clean up a bit. Koa was still a bit restless, so I took him outside, and we played a wee bit with the ball. I am sure that Koa would have preferred to play with the water hose. But, after all the rain, it seemed like a waste of water. And, to be honest, I did not have the energy to have some water fun with the dude. Which made me feel bad, and I really hoped that he would be grateful for a bit of ball-time instead.
After a few minutes, I had to go to the loo. I thought the dude would be OK with his ball for a few minutes. But yeah, I was wrong… When I came back, Koa was lying on the grass, looking mighty proud of himself, with one of the pins that holds the grass in his mouth! I was afraid that he’d hurt himself, as the endings were rather sharp. So I was glad that, with a bit of effort, I was able to retrieve the pin. The door to the garden was still open, which I didn’t think about too much. Until I realized my mistake… And needed to retrieve another pin from the pup’s teeth. All the effort it took bestie to get the pins in, and Koa keeps pulling them out like it's nothing… Ugh… When I got the second pin from Koa’s mouth, I made sure the door to the garden was closed, and Koa was inside with me.
I managed to watch a bit more telly. Made Koa his food. And, after a while, my body was so sore, that I got things ready to watch some series on my tablet in bed. I actually managed to write a wee bit of my Wednesday’s journal toot, but not enough to finish it. After a bit, I tried to read a bit, and hoped that I would be able to doze off. I successfully managed the reading bit, the falling asleep was a bit harder to do.
I woke up a few times, cared for Koa, and when I woke up again, and saw the time, I knew it was time to get up, and start the routine. I had managed a bit more than 6 hours of sleep in total. Not too much, but at least better than the 4½ hours I had earlier this week. I got up, let Koa from the crate, and we started our “day”.
Thanks to all for your kindness and support during my "journey through daily life" :bear_love: I really appreciate it :bear_hugs: as it helps me to keep going on bad/harder days! :bear_nuzzle:

#Journal of a slightly rested Dutch AuDHD Pixy :pixy_party: (Wednesday, 09/09/2026).
Another shorter night, with a little over 6 hours of sleep in total, according to my watch. But, I did one thing right, as I tried to anticipate Koa’s needs and wants. I had dozed off for a little bit, and when I woke up again, I went to the loo. After that, I offered Koa some kibble. And when he was done, some water. I took some time to get back to bed, should Koa start to whine, in case he needed to go out. But, he settled down, and we both got a bit of sleep in. I woke up again, and this time, I offered Koa to go out. It was raining, and as he went through the open door, he felt the rain, turned around, gave me a “what the hell” look, before quickly going back inside again. He went to the crate, waited for some kibble, and had a bit to drink. We slept some more, until I woke up again, and saw that it was time to start our “day”.
We started our usual routine, and I felt a bit better, as the bit of sleep had been very welcome. I still didn’t feel fully charged, but, I got a wee bit of sleep at least, which had been much needed. Koa did his things, had his meal, and got to the couch, where his chewy was waiting for him. I had taken my meds, dressed, and got to the couch as well.
My laptop was still on the table, so I opened it, and I started writing a reply email to my sweet friend. I was almost ready with it, when Koa wanted my attention. Somehow, it's like he can see when I'm trying to finish my emails, and then he decides to put some pressure on me to hurry up. I managed to finish, and I put my shoes on. Then, Koa and I went out for a short walk.
When we got back home, I made some food and enjoyed it. After that, I got back to working on my laptop. I managed to write, and finish, my blog post for later that morning. It was about my little dude, as it was 20 weeks ago today, that I took a much tinier version of him to his new home. I had just started working on Monday's journal Toot, as I had not been able to finish it yet.
But, there came a sound, a very familiar one... And, I heard it a few times, and I knew that the dude meant business. Or, to be more precise, the dude wanted to do some of his business. So, I had to obey my young, and demanding 😉, master. So, I put on my jacket, and leashed the dude, and we went out for another short walk.
We got back again, and I wrote some more for my journal Toot. Then, I mixed some meat with kibble, to make sure my dude wouldn't starve to death. After a while, I managed to finish the Toot. Finally... I still needed to write Tuesday's Toot, and I was hoping I would be able to get it done. But first, I needed some food. And I needed to allow my hands to rest a bit.
After a bite, I had just laid down on the couch, when that all to familiar sound could be heard again... 😔 I was a bit annoyed, because it had not even been two hours since our previous walkies. I just wanted, needed, a bit of relaxing. But, it became apparent that I had to take Koa for a short walk first, and then, if I got lucky, I could hopefully get some couch and telly time.
While I finally got my telly time, bestie called me on the way to work. As I answered it on speaker, Koa went a "tiny bit" nuts. He heard someone, but could not see anyone! So, he jumped on the couch, and then over me, like he was trying to protect me from the unseen threat. The doofus is going through his puberty "being more scared" phase, and I figured that this was just a part of that behavior.
When bestie had arrived at work, I wanted to lie down on my bed for a while. I decided to take Koa for another short walk, so he'd hopefully be able to properly relax as well, while I tried to give my body some proper rest. We got back home, and I was able to watch a bit of my series on my tablet, while allowing my body to relax a bit on my bed.
After about 90 minutes, Koa was done with resting, so I had to get up, and take him out for yet another little walk. We got back, and I got a snack for both Koa and myself. After that, I had to put Koa in his crate for a little while, so I could do my best with the little vacuum cleaner. It’s not the best, and it’s quite annoying to clean up afterward, but I am able to wield it with my left hand. And, the dirt that it sucks up, is not on the ground anymore. So it does make a slight positive change. Koa was a bit upset at first, but after some barks, he seemed to settle down until I was done.
I took some time to relax with some telly. The rest of the day was rather “boring”, with just one more walk, some relaxing, and some food. We went to bed, and relaxed a bit first. Then, one more pit-stop in the garden, before we went to bed. It took some time to fall asleep, and I woke up several times. But, in the end, I managed about 7 hours of sleep in total. Which I really needed, even though I was still very groggy when I woke up, and it was time to get up and start our “day”.
Thanks to all for your kindness and support during my "journey through daily life" :bear_love: I really appreciate it :bear_hugs: as it helps me to keep going on bad/harder days! :bear_nuzzle:

#Journal of a very sore and exhausted Dutch Pixy :pixy_party: (Tuesday, 08/09/2026).
After yet another too short, and too broken, night, I felt terribly sore when I got up. I was already running on fumes, and I just got out of bed. So yeah, I was really struggling to get the routine started, although I made sure to take care of the dude properly first. After I’ve done that, I got dressed, I took my meds, and Koa and I headed to the couch. Koa had woken me up about 2 hours early. So I felt out of my place, and I tried to relax for a while on the couch first.
I did doze off for a little while, while I was watching some “Scandal”. When I woke up again, I still felt tired, but it did help me a bit. I got my laptop out, and I started writing a reply to a sweet friend’s email. When I was almost done with it, Koa let me know he was ready to head out for a short walk. While he was softly, and a bit annoyingly, whining, I tried to assure him that I was doing my best to finish up. I tried to put my socks and shoes on, which was made a bit more challenging, as Koa kept trying to lick my toes...
We finally headed out, and Koa was able to get his sniffs in, and do his business. We got back home, where I fixed some brekkie, and enjoyed it. I worked a bit on my journal blog post, so it would be ready to be shared later this morning. When it was finished and scheduled, I tried to start writing Monday's journal Toot. But first, it was time to take Koa out for walkies again.
Back home, I tried to write some more, until it was time to fix another meal for my sweet and beautiful dude. After I'd done that, I noticed that my hands were just not working properly anymore. And my brain was unable to focus enough, as all it wanted to do was watch telly, and maybe doze off some more.
But, I also could not relax properly. I struggled with everything that I tried to do. I just felt so drained, so worn out, so exhausted... So, I decided to fix myself a meal instead, hoping it would at least be able to give me a wee bit of energy. I set up the dishwasher, so I could start it, and let it work its magic. After some time, Koa and I got out for our little longer walkies.
While we were out, bestie called me on her way to work. We had a good chat, which continued after we'd gotten back home. I prepared the washing machine, and started it up as well. Let's get some stuff clean again this morning. My friend arrived at work safe and sound, and the washing machine finished working. So, I gathered the wet laundry, and carefully took it up the stairs, so I could hang it out to dry.
I tried to relax a bit, get some energy back, after using more than I had with all the walks and chores this morning. I had no energy to write my journal toot, and I just could not find the motivation to get to it. I kept telling myself that I would write a bit before going to bed. And, I think I really wanted to do this, while I also kinda knew that I would probably be all worn out after going to my physio appointment.
Mum texted that she was on her way to us, just after Koa and I had gotten back from a little walk. I tried to watch some more telly, while waiting for mum. Koa was in front of the low living-room window with his snack, when mum arrived, and parked her car behind the house. Koa thought he saw or heard something, so we went into the garden to let mum in. Koa’s enthusiasm can be quite a hand-full, making it hard for mum to stay on her feet. She has a cane, but at times, Koa just tries to steal that from her! The little rascal!
When we were all inside, mum helped me with some cleaning that I had not been able to do myself. After she finished, we headed out for a little walk with the dude, before we would be heading to the car. Koa did some of his things, and got a few sniffs in, so he should hopefully be OK for the visit to the physio. We arrived all OK, and had to wait a bit before my appointment started. Big Bas asked me how I was doing, and I told him how painful my shoulders and neck were. How I couldn’t manage to loosen it up with my exercises anymore. He told me to lay on the table, and when he felt my muscles, he got to work! And, it hurt quite a bit, but when he was done, my arm and hand finally weren’t tingling all the time. Yay!
We made a little pit-stop at Lidl, before heading home again. Mum let Koa pee, while I cleaned up the groceries, and fixed Koa’s meal. Koa was eating, and mum headed back home again. I enjoyed a little snack, and then I started prepping everything for bedtime. Koa and I got to bed, and this time, I was finally able to fall asleep a little better.
For some reason, I was able to anticipate Koa’s needs a bit better during the night. He almost went out once, but it was raining, and apparently, he wasn’t eager to “have fun in the rain”. He went back to his crate, waited for his kibble, and after a drink of water, we both were able to doze off again. I still had not gotten enough sleep, but with a little over 6 hours, it was an improvement from the last two nights. So, we got up, and we started the routine of a new “day”.
Thanks to all for your kindness and support during my "journey through daily life" :bear_love: I really appreciate it :bear_hugs: as it helps me to keep going on bad/harder days! :bear_nuzzle:

Good evening Squirrel Fans.
This evening’s quote sounds like me when I’m down the gym! :-
