  1. Working on research about a real-life serial killer that is the antagonist in a story I'm working on (and yes, I knew him personally and helped to bring him to justice). Unfortunately, the last leads I had on the other murders lost their sources, and I could only find one lead which was behind a paywall. I actually contacted the murderer's offspring a few years ago (who had information about the other murders), but they have dropped off the map. So, I decided to create a public family tree for the killer, since in the fictional version, the killer's ancestors have a part to play in his actions (and perhaps IRL as well!). I figure it's a longshot, but who knows. Maybe the offspring is on Ancestry and that would certainly be a way to get their attention!

  3. #NewPaper out on visualization of writing process data: “Designing Visual Tools for Writing Process Analysis” for #DocEng25. I developed new visualization models to capture both process and product of text production, suitable for qualitative exploration for both authors and researchers.

#OpenAccess in the #ACM Digital Library:

  4. I'm very happy to announce that my PhD student Anna (co-supervisor: @CerstinMahlow) has published her first first-author paper (open access):

Małgorzata Anna Ułasik and Aleksandra Miletić (2024). "Automated Extraction and Analysis of Sentences under Production: A Theoretical Framework and Its Evaluation.” In: Languages 9(3), 71.

  5. My latest #writingresearch discovery: there's no reason we're dependent solely on blood donations. Oxygen-carrying #blood can be harvested from corpses up to 6-8 hours after death!

"For twenty-eight years, the Sklifosovsky Institute [in Moscow] happily transfused cadaver blood, some twenty-five tons of the stuff, meeting 70 percent of its clinics needs." - Mary Roach, Stiff
