🐙 NEW: Researchers first filmed #Octopus insularis cycling between long quiet #sleep and short active bursts with #color and #texture changes every 30 to 40 minutes.

A later #study on Octopus laqueus used #brain probes and found that those active bursts lasted about a minute and came with wake-like neural activity, especially in #learning and #memory regions.
