Nachdem ich es endlich geschafft hatte, den lästigen #PGP Fehler bei jedem #Librewolf Update abzustellen, geht das jetzt wieder los.
Überlegte, zum #Zen-Browser zu wechseln, doch dafür soll ich ein veraltetes #ffmpeg installieren. Kommt nicht infrage.
Geht es also zurück zu #Vivaldi … ups, seit der Neuinstallation noch gar nicht wieder installiert. Dann erst mal schauen, wie die zum #KI-Müll stehen.
#Dillo #Dooble und #qutebrowser sind ja feine Werkzeuge, die immer mal wieder zum Einsatz kommen. Aber für den täglichen Gebrauch kann ich nicht auf die Informationen verzichten, die mir #uBlock und #uMatrix liefern.
(Und wenn mir jetzt Brave vorgeschlagen wird: MIT SICHERHEIT NIEMALS!)

I wanted to test the #browser extension #AdNauseam and was even prepared to temporarily disable #uBlock and #uMatrix for it. However, I couldn't comply with the warning to disable the browser's own #tracking because #Librewolf doesn't offer that option. So, that was the end of that extension. (btw: it's hard to imagine Google would approve of this add-on.)
But if anyone's curious…

Ich wollte die #Browser Erweiterung #AdNauseam testen und war dafür sogar bereit, kurzzeitig #uBlock und #uMatrix zu deaktivieren. Die Warnung, ich solle das Browser eigene #Tracking ausschalten, konnte ich jedoch nicht erfüllen, weil das bei #Librewolf nicht vorgesehen ist. Somit war die Erweiterung auch schon Geschichte. (btw: schwer vorstellbar, dass Google mit dem Addon einverstanden ist)
Falls aber jemand neugierig ist…

Die Kreditkartenfelder werden bei vielen Shops mit dem Zahlungsdienstleister Adyen nicht geladen.
Pro-Tipp: Das liegt nicht an geblockten URLs, sondern am verschleierten Referer. Wenn man die Option unter den drei Punkten deaktiviert, dann geht dieser Zahldienstleister wieder.

#firefox mir von heute auf morgen wieder den sponsoring und news spam in neue Tabs zu werfen, ist ein unding.
Hat jemand ein gute alternative als Browser das nicht #Chromium basiert ist und Plugins für #KeePassXC und content blocking wie #ublock und #umatrix hat? -
#uMatrix macht in letzter Zeit Probleme. Obwohl komplett auf "Grün" (*) geschaltet, verhindert es in Firefox für einen (seriösen) Online-Shop die Kreditkartenzahlung. In Vivaldi verhindert es, ebenfalls komplett auf "Grün" geschaltet, dass eingebettete YouTube-Videos angezeigt werden (Error 15). Sehr schade. Hat das Problem noch jemand? Ungerne möchte ich uMatrix komplett deaktivieren.
(*) Grün = Mit dem On/Off-Schalter für den Geltungsbereich deaktiviert

Nuked all my librewolf settings last night trying to figure out why all the sudden youtube videos would not play. Turns out that umatrix was causing the problem.
If umatrix is installed at all, even when deactivated for the site , youtube will not load video. Happened on all 3 of my personal machines. #privacy #youtube #umatrix

Nicht nur den Datensammler #cloudflare einzubinden, sondern die rote Warnliste in #uMatrix so lang ist, dass scrollen notwendig ist. Zudem wurde zu #tailwind #css gewechselt (und als cdn geladen), von dessen Nutzung eher abgeraten wird.
Dann begebe ich mich mal auf die Suche nach einer neuen, seriösen Quelle für #Europa #News.

Das ist blöd. Bei #distrowatch funktioniert die Suche nicht mehr, weil dort offenbar die Technik ausgelagert wurde, worauf #uBlock und #uMatrix jetzt mit sehr vielen roten Blockaden reagieren.
Schade, noch ein Langzeitbegleiter weniger. #Linux

It's sad that the excellent #uMatrix addon for #mozilla #firefox was discontinued. It was an excellent way of making sure what websites allow and what not.
I have been using it and it has been working well until now, but I have noticed some strange errors that were not happening in a new (librewolf) profile with uBlock Origin, so I might have to switch.
Hrumph.

This is disappointing: #Firefox 128 more or less silently enables a new (aggregate) advertisement tracking feature:

It's not that I feel this technique is per se unacceptable. But as an #umatrix #ublock #cookie autodelete poweruser I'd love to get a notification before enabling this.
The heck: Even Google in Android shows a full screen confirmation dialog before enabling a similar thing!

Bei #Google #Mail kann ich mich nicht einloggen, weil mir vermeintlich irgendein Code aufs Smartphone gesendet wurde. Den ich jedoch nicht erhalten habe, weil die Schnittstelle vermutlich zu den zahlreich von mir blockierten #APIs gehört.
Bei #DHL kann ich mich nicht anmelden, obwohl in #uBlock & #uMatrix alles grün geschaltet ist.
Ehrlich, das Internet wird zusehends unbenutzbar und könnte einen Restart gebrauchen 😤

I wanted to be curious and take a look at this #temu. Since it was necessary to turn off #uBlock and #uMatrix, I took a big risk.
But you can't just browse around because a login page always loads automatically. So you are forced to register and throw your data into a black hole.
It's very unfortunate that so many people do this thoughtlessly because they only have their own advantage in mind. Pathetic creatures.

warum verwendest du weiterhin #UMatrix? Das wird doch nicht mehr weiterentwickelt.
Mit #uBlockOrgin kannst du das auch blockieren. -

Do Not Track (DNT) is a formerly official HTTP header field, designed to allow internet users to opt-out of tracking by websites—which includes the collection of data regarding a user's activity across multiple distinct contexts, and the retention, use, or sharing of data derived from that activity outside the context in which it occurred.

Industry refused to adopt it and the standard was withdrawn in 2018. So we get !@#$%^&*() consent dialogues.
My own response to those:
- Nuke the dialogue using either uBlock Origin's element blocker or if that doesn't stick, a Stylish local CSS rule.
- Use uMatrix to deny ALL cookies from the domain.
Note that this is usually overkill as uMatrix typically denies third-party cookies anyway. But it's my little personal protest.
(uBlock Origin, uMatrix, and Stylish are all browser extensions for #Firefox, Chrome, Safari, etc. Note that you want uBlock Origin and NOT the uBlock, which has gone to the dark side.
