Phewee! Just completed recording the final #synthtember track for this year - which means I managed to record a #synth track every day of the month this time around. Looking forward to sorting through the debris, having a debrief and seeing what potential future album material comes of it.

Over this #Synthtember I've recorded a #synthesizer #improvisation every day (thus far) - using various #analogue #synthesizers, and to break things up occasionally, #Bitwig software synths. Every evening I've tried to re-wire the studio setup in a completely different way, with different selections of instruments and effects, and different relationships between them. There's been some nice #psychedelic stuff so far - as well as more than a few er shall we say erm experimental ones. A good portion of the material will likely end up edited, overdubed and otherwise interfered with to shape it into album material.

#Synthtember No.2 "Erekosë". I recorded two tracks previous to this, but was er a little too frivolous in my patching experimentation, and consequently the results were slightly too wonky, even by my standards. So, for the third track I fired up #Bitwig for a bit of computer-based #synthesizer #music recording that ended up sounding suspiciously like a song.

Synthtember No. 1 "Hazy Malaisey". Warming-up, literally as well as figuratively, for #Synthtember 2024. Thirty-five degrees & smoky returning home weary and wary from a weekend away. A drone generated with Reaktor, then heavily processed in Reaper. The ensemble I used is called Sludge Drone, but I couldn't find it in the user library again to link to it.

FSA / @screwtape #synthtember Day 2: what better way to follow up a virtual Lunetta patch than with a real one? Once again recorded in the wee hours of the morning, posting a little earlier this time.
For the curious, the name Lunetta comes from Stanley Lunetta (RIP), who pioneered the (ab)use of CMOS chips for cheap & nasty modular synthesis. There is some info (and links to more/better info) on this page of my website:
