  1. Another #Bitwig question: Is there a way for me to manually change the meta-data for an external vst3/clap plugin, so it will be categorized the right way in Bitwigs browser?

(It seems so extremely odd that you can’t manually change this in the Bitwig Browser, when you have so many different filter options which doesn’t make sense to use at all, when all items can’t be sorter)

  2. One of the things I’m exited about with having moved to Bitwig, is the Modulator system.

There is still a lot to learn, but I love finding gems like this quality YouTube video with less than 300 views, showing how to use a modulator to create a Note following EQ. That would take one expensive plugin to do in other DAWs (I have such expensive plugin).

    Any recommendations for modulator tricks?

  3. WHY WOULD ANYONE PAY FOR ANY OTHER DAW #bitwig #ringtone #beatmaking #musicproduction
what do y'all think of my funkass ringtone/beat thingy

  4. In my case, I have made an 8 track template which has a Drum Machine on track one, Sampler and my 6 most used synths/instruments.

I would like to quickly be able to play with each synth/instrument and change the sound of the sampler/instrument using only keyboard shortcuts or buttons on an extension. I would like to keep my hand of the mouse to keep my workflow more fluent and closer to the sounds.

This task seems close to impossible to achieve.

  5. I should mention, that it’s not “Click with the mouse”-functions I can’t find.

It’s the “making keyboard shortcuts that cuts directly to the function I know I often needs” that seems to drown in the complex structure of the context aware browser, so it’s dependent of what is selected.

This is easy with the mouse, since you click the relevant plus (or content folder) in Bitwig. But it makes it hard using short cuts or buttons.

  6. I'm trying to get my head around Bitwigs browser. I see the idea of the context-smart browser, but I simply can't understand why I can't have a simple keyboard short-cut which selects the next preset.

It seems like I need to open the pop-up browser (which takes up screen estate) and then sort the visible items in the browser, and after that I can use the arrow buttons.

Perhaps it's not a Bitwig thing to browse presets?

  7. Week 21 of #WeeklyBeats - "No Notes" is a pun on trying to write a piece of music with only noise / percussion. Of course there end up being pitches in there, but it was fun to do. It's almost entirely #FieldRecordings but arranged into rhythmic patterns, which I talk about in the process notes on my blog.

We’ll that’s why we mix with different listening environments in mind :)

  28. Work in progres!

I was trying out working in grid-mode in #bitwig, and it’s not really my thing. I get stuck and can’t see the progression like I’m used to. I’m a very visual person, and sound is no different, and it’s much easier for me to see and visualize what’s going on or what should be going on in arrangermode.

I’m not closed to finished, it needs more layers, fx and transitions. But I like the vibe.

Disclaimer: Dirty mix on headphones, might not translate well.
