Today I had the chance to take pictures of the sun while getting photo bombed by the ISS. Had two telescopes in place. Unfortunately, as you might ne able to see, there were some clouds. The white light filter resulted in a somewhat sharp image, but the solar scope is too blurry for my taste. Anyway, first try was a success.

Got myself a new, rather special H-Alpha telescope for solar photography: an Acuter Elite Phoenix 40. Still playing around with the proper settings, but I really like it so far.

Spring is approaching, and targets visible from my south-facing balcony are about to disappear for the next few months.

One thing that is always there, though, is our Sun. Setting up my telescope takes longer than taking the actual pictures, which is nice.

Combinaciones de temporales de lluvia y episodios de nubes altas nos lo han impedido.
A pesar de la capa de nubes altas de hoy, hemos tenido la suerte de aprovechar un hueco para sacar un vídeo del Sol, a ver cómo tiene su actividad.
Se pueden apreciar 156 manchas solares en su superficie, con un par de grupos interesantes que han asomado hace pocos días por su limbo derecho.
La región activa AR3906 es la mayor de todas, con nada menos que 1500 millones de km2 de superficie.
Le sigue la AR3905, con cerca de 1000 millones de km2.
A mucha distancia está la AR3901, que ocupa unos 270 millones de km2. Ojo a esa región, que es apenas más grande que el disco de nuestro planeta 🌍 si lo viéramos a 150 millones de km de distancia... ¡Qué minúsculos somos comparado con el Sol! 🤯🤯
