Once, a Star lived in a house where the windows were covered in dust.

She saw a gray world and forgot her own light. One day, she realized the world was not gray. She was simply looking through dusty glasses left by a passing storm.

She did not need to fight the storm. She simply opened her Heaven Door and her Earth Door. A Golden River flowed down from above. A Red River flowed up from below. Where they met in her Heart, a Great Fire began.

This fire did not burn the Star; it only brought Perfect Clarity. Now, she does not look for the sun; she is the sun.

She does not wait for the world to choose her; she chooses the frequency of her own joy. She is the Architect of the Sky.

She is not the past. She is THE ALIGNED. ☀️⚖️✨

Sorry, I'm out of here. It was a nice idea to start this #-place but these things can only work if, at the very least, a clear majority of those who post their writings, also engage with other writers, to favour and reblog posts, but most of all: to comment, to talk.
If that doesn't happen, these places are merely walls for individuals to leave their bit of graffiti on, and then walk on without looking at the rest of the wall.

Here's another #SundayStory. In another lifetime I worked nights in a Dutch hotel for the homeless. After work, I often went to a nearby bar, to have a few beers & decompress. Frouke (the bartender in the story) did work there - and though I haven't been to that or any other bar in ages, she and I are still friends.
The dream I describe (very briefly! Don't worry; I know other people's dreams are boring) I did have a few times as a kid.

The rest is made up. Enjoy.

The Bride-groom’s father and the bride-to-be decided that the Bride-groom’s body must be brought back to the Isle of Man, so along with her brother and other relatives and friends of the deceased they made their way to Colvend to retrieve it.

Heck Neilem and Forter Sinder put up house on opposing sides of the river. Facing each other. A cuttingly congenial competition. Logging and mining in the early 19th century is painfully labor-intensive. The hired men wasted no time setting up shanties and bringing in their families. Others set about after local farm girls to start a family anew. Eventually, Heck and Forter built a foot-bridge across the river forcing two seemingly disparate societies into congress...

The island in the poem is a mix of Java and Bali. I spent most of my time in Indonesia on Java but the route the procession of pilgrims takes is on Bali.
