Too much sun available? How about some sun prints with plants? I just discovered the (simple) secret for fixation of turmeric prints (turmeric is extremely light-sensitive): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05yT8-WquMw
These yellow prints work best in summer because they need light.
Other sun print techniques with water colour inks need warmth and can be done on radiators even in winter.

The closer we get to Christmas the warmer it get’s outside. Thinking of spring time and of these little flowers I found in my garden. I don’t know their name but their multiple tiny blossoms have a nice color, something between blue and purple.

A cyanotype created using a bit of voile lace panel. I love the effect it gives, rather fae like. I mainly do plants from the hedgerows and my garden, but this was such a beautiful panel I had to see how it would turn out.

This cyanotype is one year old. I collected the dried flowers during a cold trail run on the sunny sides of the Rhône Valley. Even if it’s not perfekt I like the tiny details of the dry seeds.

I’ve definitely done more #CyanotypeArt during spring and summer. After last winter I couldn’t wait to pick up and press some spring flowers like these tiny ones. I think it was Anemone nemorosa but I am not 100% sure anymore. Anyway, as a #CyanoPrint they do look quite lovely.

Back to sharing another #Cyanotype print. A bit blurred at the left edge. But to the rest of the detailed sheet also a welcome contrast. The overlapping parts of the sheet are what make it so interesting. Borderless prints are always a challenge to handle.
